This article is written in order to review a comparative approach to Lee Hang’s the theory of Liqi(理氣). His theory as well as evaluation of future reference to achieve this goal, a comprehensive assessment should also analyze. The motivation for writing the article are as follows: First, there is a problem with the approach to his theory. Second, some of the assessment is not a few of the future reference his theory be a misunderstanding. Third, if a misunderstanding occurs as a reason not to find a proper interpretation of his criticism theory becomes impossible. To clarify the misunderstanding of the future reference of the his theory of Li(理) and Qi(氣) should be Yiti(一體) and Yiwu(一物) analyzed from any concept. Should also review the analysis and interpretation of contemporary Confucian scholars of the Joseon era. The success of these two studies lies in comparison with Zhu-xi’s the theory of Liqi(理氣). Problem arise in the process of comparison the theory of Liqi(理氣). The bigger problem, but a problem for excessive assessment is that after his theory of Liqi(理氣) provisions of the Zhu-xi. His theory of Liqi(理氣) a logical fallacy, resolve the exaggerated facts like it. Place clothed cause a bubble or do not fit the body like as starting. This approach will only be a failure to understand the theory of Lee Hang’s. Some of the details of the issue is caused by a lack of rigor terms. Also it will occur because they do not seriously consider the condition to be equipped to become one of the words is suitably used. This also is a factor that makes the theory of his misunderstood. Reducing the clothes may cause the following. First, Yiti(一體) and Yiwu(一物) are the core of his theory. The theory of Liqi(理氣) is limited to phenomenology. Narrowed the scope of the discussion; Reduction of the Zhu-xi’s theory. Second, empirical, theoretical, and focused on the sensory dimension; Specialization of the Zhu-xi’s theory.

이 글은 이항의 이기론에 대한 접근방식을 비교 검토하기 위해 쓴 것이다. 이 목적을 달성하려면 이항의 이기론 뿐만 아 니라 후학들의 평가도 종합적으로 분석ㆍ평가해야 한다. 이 글을 쓰게 된 동기는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이항의 이기론에 대한 접근방식에 문제가 있다. 둘째, 후학들의 평가들 중 일부는 이항의 이기론을 잘못 이해한 것도 적지 않다. 셋째, 오 해가 발생하게 된 까닭을 찾아 비판하지 않으면 이항의 그것에 대한 적절한 해석은 불가능해진다. 이항의 이기론에 대한 후학들의 오해를 밝히려면, ‘일체’와 ‘일물’ 개념부터 분석해야 한다. 그리고 주자의 이기론과 비 교해야 한다. 그런 다음 조선 유학자들의 해석과 현대 학자들의 해석을 비판적으로 검토해야 한다. 그래야만 이항의 일 체일물설과 이기론이 지니는 특징 및 의의를 비교적 선명하게 드러낼 수 있다. 그러나 문제점은 여러 곳에서 자주 발생한다. 주자 이기론과의 비교 과정에서 발생하기도 하고, 또 짧은 이항의 글을 분 석할 때 생략한 말들을 보충해 넣는 과정에서 발생하기도 한다. 이와 다른 유형의 문제들도 발생하는데, 특히 이항의 이 기론에 대한 과도한 평가가 문제시 된다. 이것은 주자의 이기론을 논리적 오류로 규정한 뒤 이항의 이기론이 그것을 해 결한 것처럼 포장하는 방식이다. 거품을 일으키거나 또는 몸에 맞지 않는 헐렁한 옷을 입혀 놓고 시작하는 셈이다. 이러 한 방식은 이항의 이기론을 올바르게 이해하는데 장애가 될 뿐이다. 세부 쟁점 중 일부는 용어 사용의 엄밀성 부족 때문 에 발생한 것이다. 또 그것은 하나의 낱말이 적합하게 사용되기 위해 갖추어야 할 조건들을 심각하게 고려하지 않기 때 문에 발생한 것이다. 이것도 이항의 이기론을 잘못 이해하게 만드는 요인이 된다. 다음과 같이 옷을 줄여 입힐 수 있다. 첫째, ‘일체’와 ‘일물’이 핵심인 이항의 이기론은 본체론과 현상론으로 구분되는 주 자의 이기론 중에서 이기무선후의 현상론으로 논의의 폭을 좁힌 이기론이다. 다시 말하면, 주자 이기론의 ‘축소 모형’이 다. 둘째, 이항의 이기론은 만물의 一原에 관한 주자의 형이상학적 설명을 생략하고 경험적ㆍ감각적 차원에 집중한 결 과다. 다시 말하면, 주자 이기론의 ‘특수 모형’이다.
