The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediating among emotion regulation, jealousy, and envy in the relationships between children’s rejection sensitivity and relational aggression. For this study, data was collected from 575 elementary school students in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grades in Gyeongsangnam-do by measuring the scales of rejection sensitivity, emotion regulation, jealousy, envy and relational aggression. The result from the research is summarized as follows. First, the children’s rejection sensitivity expresses the positive correlations among relational aggression, jealousy, and envy, but the children’s rejection sensitivity shows the negative correlation with emotion regulation. The emotion regulation as a mediator variable in this study presents the negative correlation with relational aggression while jealousy and envy express the positive correlation with the relational aggression. Second, emotion regulation, jealousy and envy as mediator variables fully mediate in relationships in children’s rejection sensitivity and relational aggression. The consecutive order in the preceding model of the emotion regulation (rejection sensitivity → emotion regulation → jealousy and envy → relational aggression) is significant to the relationships between children’s rejection sensitivity and relational aggression. On the other hand, the consecutive order in the preceding model of jealousy and envy (rejection sensitivity → jealousy and envy → emotion regulation → relational aggression) is not significant. Therefore, it is necessary to proceed with a negative emotion order from children’s emotion regulation to jealousy and envy when counselling a student who has high relational aggression from children’s rejection sensitivity in school. Lastly, the result is compared with previous studies and the implication and limitation are discussed.

본 연구는 아동의 거부민감성과 관계적 공격성의 관계에서 정서조절과 질투와 시샘이 매개 하는지를 알아보는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 경상남도 소재 초등학교 4, 5, 6학년 아동 575 명에게 거부민감성, 정서조절, 질투, 시샘 그리고 관계적 공격성 척도를 실시하여 자료를 수 집하였고 도출한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동의 거부민감성은 관계적 공격성, 질투와 시 샘과는 정적 상관, 정서조절과는 부적 상관을 보였고 연구의 매개변인인 정서조절 및 질투와 시샘도 관계적 공격성과 각각 부적, 정적상관을 보였다. 둘째, 매개변인인 정서조절과 질투와 시샘이 아동의 거부민감성과 관계적 공격성과의 관계를 완전매개하는 것으로 나타냈다. 그리 고 아동의 거부민감성과 관계적 공격성의 관계에서 정서조절의 선행모형(거부민감성→ 정서 조절→ 질투와 시샘→ 관계적 공격성)의 순차적 경로는 유의한 반면, 질투와 시샘의 선행모 형(거부민감성→ 질투와 시샘→ 정서조절→ 관계적 공격성)의 순차적 경로는 유의하지 않았 다. 이는 학교장면에서 아동의 거부민감성에 기인한 관계적 공격성 수준이 높은 학생을 상담 할 때 아동의 정서조절을 먼저 다루고 그 다음 질투와 시샘과 같은 부적 정서의 순서로 개 입할 필요가 있음을 시사하는 것이다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 결과를 기존의 연구결과와 비교 하고 연구의 의미와 제한점을 논의하였다.
