This study is intended to explore the relationship between the politics of education and the political science, to diagnose the issues hampering disciplinary identity of the politics of education, and to examine tasks for its development. Both the politics of education and the political science have been influenced by academic stream and theoretical universality of Western politics so that they cannot establish their own identity based on Korean reality. Accordingly, both need to share issues and tasks on disciplinary identity, and to form mutual collaboration in order to establish it through dialogue and fusion between the disciplines. In detail, the issues to do it are as the followings: (1) the politics of education as a rainbow science, (2) the politics of education focused on control and instrumentality, (3) the politics of education as an area study of American politics of education, and (4) the politics of education as adaptologies and imitatologies. Finally, the tasks to solve the issues are suggested as the follows: (1) to overcome rotated relations between theoretical dependence on methodology and methodological dependence on theory, (2) to avoid rule-making and rule-adapting research of educational politics, (3) to explore the establishment of educational politics curriculum and its standardization, and (4) to publish an introductory textbook on Korean politics of education

본 연구는 교육정치학이 정치학과 어떤 관계를 가질 것인가에 대한 문제와 한국 교 육정치학이 학문적 종속성을 벗어나 자기 준거적 시각에서 정체성의 확립을 방해하는 쟁점들을 진단하고, 발전을 위한 과제를 검토해보고자 하였다. 한국의 교육정치학은 정 치학과 마찬가지로 서구 정치학의 학문적 조류와 이론의 보편성에 영향을 받아왔으며 한국 현실과의 관계 속에서 정체성을 형성하지 못해 왔다. 따라서 한국 교육정치학은 정치학과 함께 학문적 정체성의 고민과 쟁점을 공유하며, 학문간 대화와 융합을 통해 정체성을 확립하기 위한 공동의 전선을 형성할 필요가 있다. 구체적으로, 한국의 교육 정치학이 학문적 정체성 확립 측면에 안고 있는 쟁점은 ① 무지개 과학으로서 교육정 치학의 성격, ② 통제와 도구성 중심에 초점을 둔 교육정치학의 문제, ③ 미국 교육정 치학의 지역학으로서 교육정치학의 위상, ④ 수용학 또는 모방학으로서의 교육정치학 등이다. 이러한 쟁점을 해소하여 학문적 정체성을 확립하기 위한 발전 과제로는 ① 방 법론의 이론 종속성과 이론의 방법론 종속성이라는 순환관계의 극복, ② 법칙정립적이 며 법칙적용적인 교육정치학 연구의 탈피, ③ 대학에서 교육정치학 교과과정 설치 및 표준화 모색, ④ 한국 교육정치학 입문서 출간 등이 제시되었다.
