The purpose of this research is to find more effective ways to support exports of our defense products through package-type promotion. Package-type defense product exports are composed of initial acquisition consulting for buyers, proposals that are more suitable for the buyer’s long-term economic development, and military operation needs due to a deeper bilateral relationship. In this regard, this research analyzes the world defense market paradigm, the status and strength of export support in developed countries, and the export support systems of the current Korean government. Through this analysis, this study can find out what kinds of supporting functions are needed for our future competitiveness in the world market. Nowadays, the size and mode of arms transfer projects are increasing, and full solution provision is needed for buyers. Even competitors are trying to join what? strategically when they are needed to produce better solutions based on smart clients and fully developed ICT. Thus, this study explored practical solutions such as the establishment of a new organization staffed by highly experienced personnel. This solution should also be followed in legal processes.

본 논문은 높아진 한국의 국격과 한류 분위기를 방산물자 수출에 적극 활용함으로써 창조경제달성에 기여해 보자는 의도에서 시작되었다. 세계 방산시장의 패러다임 변화와 방산선진국의 수출지원 트렌드를 살펴보면, 이들은 단순제품수출형태가 아니라 초기 마케팅 기획단계부터 구매국에게 보다 유리한 패키지(컨설팅, 교육훈련, 운영유지지원, 현지조립지원 등을 포함) 형태로 변화하고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이에 한국방산수출 지원 조직 및 지원 실태를 분석해 봄으로써, 방산 패키지 수출 극대화를 위한 필수 보강 지원기능이 무엇인지, 그리고 그것을 어떻게 실현해야 하는지 등의 방안을 모색하고자 하였다.
