In this study, we analyzed indirect cost behavior using Korean defense industry data, and tested how such costs [indirect labor costs, overhead costs, and SG&A (selling, general, and administrative] costs change when defense industry exports rise. The results of this study showed that defense industry exports cause changes in indirect costs of sales. First, an increasing volume of exports decreases the indirect labor cost of sales. Second, an increasing volume of exports has no statistically significant relationship to the overhead cost of sales. Third, an increasing volume of exports increases the SG&A cost of sales. The analysis of the indirect cost behavior in the Korean defense industry when exports rise is still in its initial stage in our country.

본 연구는 수출실적이 있는 한국 방산업체의 자료를 통하여 간접비의 원가행태를 분석하였다. 매출액이 증가하는 경우에 간접비(간접노무비, 간접경비, 일반관리비)가 어떻게 변화하는지를 분석하였다. 그 결과 방산업체의 수출증가는 매출액 내 간접비의 비중에 영향을 미치는 것을 확인하였다. 첫째, 수출의 증가는 매출액 내 간접노무비의 비중을 감소시키는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 수출의 증가는 매출액 내 간접경비의 비중과는 통계적으로 연관성이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 수출의 증가는 매출액 내 일반관리비의 비중을 증가시키는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 수출이 포함된 매출액이 증가함에 따라 매출액 내 간접비의 비중은 감소하는 것을 확인하였다.
