In this study the MMPI-2 and DDS were administered to examine if the DDS could realize a depression tendency. The participants of this study were 74 adult females. The scoring index of the DDS was based on the drawing analysis index by Cohen(1986) and Juliet(2007). In addition, part of the FEATS formal index were included in the reorganization of the DDS index. The data analysis was conducted using frequency, percentage, and cross tabulation. The findings are as follows. First, in the color index in relation to depression the three drawings showed significant differences in the color energy and color steadiness. The degree of color use and coloring showed significant differences in the line.side.shape. Free drawings and tree drawings showed significant differences in the unique color. Tree drawings showed significant differences in the combination. Second, in the shape index in relation to depression, the three drawings showed significant differences in integration. Third, in the form index in relation to depression the three drawings showed significant differences in pen pressure. In the line.side.shape, free drawings showed significant differences in the line length. In the space use, tree drawings showed significant differences in the line.side.shape. Four, in the contents index, Tree drawings showed significant differences in the representational painting, Some differences were found in the DDS drawings depending on the degree of depression, an indication that the DDS has a potential to be used as a diagnostic tool to provide clinical information.

본 연구는 진단적 그림 시리즈(DDS)를 통하여 우울성향을 파악할 수 있는지 알아보기 위하여 다면적 인성검사(MMPI-2)와 DDS 그림검사를 실시하였다. 연구대상은 성인여성 74명이었다. DDS의 채점지표는 Cohen(1986)과 주리애(2007)의 분류지표를 참고하였으며, FEATS의 형식지표 중 색에 관련한 지표를 포함하여 재구성하였다. 자료 분석은 빈도, 백분율과 교차분석을 하였다. 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 우울정도에 따른 색 평가지표 중 채색 에너지와 채색 안정성에서는 세 가지 그림 모두 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 색사용정도와 채색정도는 선·면·형태에서만 유의미하게 나타났고 특이한 색에서는 자유화와 나무 그림에서만 유의미하게 나타났으나 색 혼합은 나무그림에서만 유의미하게 나타났다. 둘째, 우울정도에 따른 형태 평가지표에서는 통합성에서 세 가지 그림 모두 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 우울정도에 따른 형식 평가지표 중 필압에서 세 그림 모두 유의미한 차이가 나타났고 선 길이는 자유화와 선·면·형태에서 유의미하게 나타났으며 공간 사용도에서는 나무그림과 선·면·형태에서만 유의미하게 나타났다. 넷째, 내용 평가지표에서는 나무의 구상화에서만 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 이상에서와 같이 우울정도에 따라 DDS 그림이 부분적으로 차이가 나타나 진단적 그림시리즈(DDS)는 임상 정보를 제공하는데 도움을 줄 수 있는 도구로 활용 가치가 있음을 알 수 있었다.
