The country's tourism industry was in the 1970s, foreign touristssince the foreign currency acquisition industry through 2014 tothe present is the future that has established itself as a high value-added industry for growth era. Park Geun-Hye said theGovernment also was chosen as the core of the Government's policyto enable the tourism industry, the Ministry of culture, sportsand tourism to tourism in tort for coping with lopsided promotes"tourism police system" as an alternative. 우리나라의 관광산업은 1970년대 외래관광객 유치를 통한 외화획득산업 이래2014년 현재에는 미래 저성장시대에 대비한 고부가가치 산업으로 자리매김하고 있다. 박근혜 정부에서도 관광산업 활성화를 정부의 핵심정책으로 선정 하였고, 문화체육관광부에서 관광 불법행위에 적극 대처하기 위한 일 방안으로 “관광경찰제도 도입”을 추진하였다. 이처럼 관광경찰제도는 정부의 관광산업의 효과를 증진시키고 정부의 관련기관 간의 융복합적인 정책에 대표적인 성격을 가지는 관광치안 정책으로서 관광경찰제도의활성화가 필요한 시점이라 할 수 있다. 이에 이 연구에서는 관광경찰의 활성화 요인 분석을 통하여 향후 활성화 방안을제시하고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 이 연구에서는 외래관광객의 지역적수요, 거버넌스적 관광치안정책, 경찰배치와 운영, 관광경찰의 배치 효과를 중심으로요인을 중심으로 살펴보았으며, 향후 관광경찰의 활성화 방안으로서 관광경찰의 지역적 확대방안, 융복합적인 관광정책의 확대, 관광경찰의 배치와 운영방향, 관광경찰의배치효과를 제시하였다.
