On entering Korea, marriage migrant women will encounter new legal relations in every area of their lives. Thus, it is indispensable to support law-related education for social adaptation and social integration of marriage migrant women. Since marriage migrant women are vulnerable both socially and legally as migrants, law-related education where such characteristic is reflected should be conducted. In other words, law-related education for migrant women should be focused on adaptation to and integration into Korean society; furthermore, to prevent criminal damage or legal dispute, migrant women should be able to protect their own rights and have an independent awareness of human right protection. To understand the actual state of law-related education for migrant women, we have analyzed the social integration program implemented by the Ministry of Justice, law-related education for migrants implemented by the Law-Related Education Center, and law-related cultural education for migrants implemented by the Law-Related Cultural Education Center of the Korea Legal Aid Corporation(KLAC). The results of the analysis suggest that law-related education for migrant women is currently being enhanced both quantitatively and qualitatively; based on the increase in the number of migrants, diverse forms of education are provided for social integration of migrants. However, our results also demonstrate several improvements are required. First, an insight into the law-related education for migrant women should be reestablished. Second, the contents of law-related education for migrant women should correspond to the needs of migrant women. Third, fostering expert lecturers of law-related education for migrant women is necessary. Fourth, community cooperation and diversification of education methods should be implemented. Fifthly and finally, law-related education should be related to legal structure.

결혼이주여성은 우리나라에 입국한 이후 생활의 전분야에서 광범위하게 새로운 법률관계에 직면하게 된다 이에 따라 결혼이주여성에게는 사회적응 및 사회통합을 위한 법교육이 필수적으로 요청된다 특히 결혼 이주여성은 이주민으로서 사회적‧법적 취약 계층에 해당하기 때문에 이러한 특성이 반영된 법교육이 이루어져야 한다 즉 결혼 이주 여성 대상 법교육은 이주민으로서 한국 사회에 대한 적응과 통합이 강조되어야 하고 결혼이주 여성 스스로 자주적인 인권 보호의식을 가지고 자신의 권익을 보호할 수 있어야 한다 나아가 공동체 구성원으로서 민주시민성을 함양하고 법률분쟁이나 범죄피해를 예방할 수 있도록 이루어져야 한다. 결혼이주여성의 법교육 실태를 이해하기 위하여 법무부에서 시행하는 사회통합프로그램 한국법교육센터에서 시행하는 이주민 대상 법교육 대한법률구조공단의 법문화교육센터에서 시행하는 이주민 대상 법문화교육을 살펴보았다 분석 결과 이주민의 증가에 따라 이주민의 사회통합을 위한 다양한 교육이 활성화되었고 결혼이주여성을 대상으로 한 법교육도 양적으로 질적으로 성장하고 있음을 파악할 수 있었으나 다음과 같은 개선 사항도 필요함을 제시하고자 하였다 첫째 결혼이주여성을 대상으로 한 법교육에 대한 시각이 재정립되어야 한다 둘째 결혼이주여성의 필요를 반영한 법교육으로 내용이 구성되어야 한다 셋째 결혼이주여성 대상 법교육 전문강사 양성이 필요하다 넷째 지역 사회의 협조 및 교육 방법의 다양화가 이루어져야 한다 다섯째 법교육과 법률구조의 연계가 강화되어야 한다.
