This paper is to offer the teaching model that can easily be used in the multicultural educational class. Even though there are some teaching methodologies for multicultural education, if cultivating moral judgement, this paper is to develop the teaching model by using story based on class inquiry community theory by professor Lipman who proposes to teach the higher-order thinking skills. However, the studies on the inquiry community for cultivating moral judgement in multicultural situations are lack. Even though the studies on theory of multicultural education have considerably been progressing since 1990, the concrete teaching models to be applied in classrooms have not been developed a lot. Therefore, this study is to develop the teaching model through the moral inquiry community. Expecially, due to teaching material not only suppling fun and impression to students in mulicultural situations but also allowing students to accept easily, this paper will be formed as the system to justify the moral teaching model. This paper is to develop the teaching model for multicultural education that is applied to higher-order thinking skills by using stories, which are related to both the goal of multicultural education and contents, such as culture, diversity, cooperation, anti-bias, equality, and identity. These findings suggest that the implementation of multicultural education in the field of school education will be able to give practical help.

본 연구에서는 다문화교육수업에서 쉽게 활용 가능한 수업모형을 제시해 보고자 했다. 다문화교육을 하기 위한 여러 가지 기법들이 있겠지만 다문화적인 상황에서 도덕적 판단력을 기르고자 한다면 고차적 사고기술을 가르쳐야한다는 맆맨교수의 교실탐구공동체이론에 근거하여 이야기를 활용한 수업모형을 개발하고자 한다. 그러나 다문화적 상황에서 도덕적 판단을 신장시키기 위한 탐구공동체에 수업에 관한 연구가 부족하다. 1990년 이후 다문화교육에 대한 이론적인 연구는 상당히 진행되고 있지만, 교실 내에서 적용할 수 있는 구체적인 수업모형이 많이 개발되지 않은 실정이다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 도덕적 탐구공동체를 통한 수업모형을 개발하고자 한다. 특히 다문화적 상황에서 수업자료는 재미와 감동을 줄 수 있고, 학생들이 쉽게 수용할 수 있는 것이 이야기라는 점에 공감하여, 이야기를 활용한 수업모형을 정당화하는 체계로 논문을 구성할 것이다. 다문화교육의 목표이자 내용인 문화, 다양성, 협력, 반편견, 평등, 정체성 형성과 관련한 이야기 자료를 활용하여 탐구공동체를 통한 고차적 사고기술을 적용하여 다문화교육에 활용할 수 있는 수업모형을 개발할 것이다. 이러한 연구 결과들은 다문화교육을 시행하는 학교교육 현장에 실제적인 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.
