The purpose of this study is to analyze the elements of Korea yang-ming studies which can be used for moral education and seek ways to accommodate them into moral education. In other words, this study was conducted with the aim to identify the nexus between many controversial issues in moral education and Korea yang-ming studies, improve the status of Korea yang-ming studies relating to the moral education, identify and accommodate the elements in conjunction with moral education. First, the author of this paper addressed the interface between the recent controversial subjects(personality, intuition and meditation) and the thoughts of Jung, Je-Doo. His thoughts alluded to: ① the definition of personality fit for moral education in relation to ‘the emphasis of personality’, ② the reductionism ways to understand people referred to in Social Intuitionist Model(SIM) in relation to ‘the resurrection of intuition’ and ③ the contemplation on our minds and an understanding of wholeness in relation to ‘the application of meditation’. Next the author proved the validity of the information relating to Korea yang-ming studies contained in the 5 types of 『Ethics and Thoughts』 textbook and particularly selected the elements in the thoughts of Jung, Je-Doo required to be accommodated into the textbook urgently. First of all the author highlighted the differences between Korea and China yang-ming studies on the by way of ‘understanding Yangjee based on the threefold structure of principles’ and then addressed the objectives and methods of moral education on the basis of ‘the enlightenment based on the convergence and divergence of minds’, and then converted those elements into the language for learners to accommodate them into the textbook.

본 연구의 목적은, 도덕과 교육과 관련해 한국양명학에서 발견할 수 있는 내용 요소들을 탐색하고, 이것을 교과 내로 수용하기 위한 방안을 도출하는 것이다. 이를 위해 먼저 도덕과 교육에서 최근 쟁점이 되고 있는 ⓐ ‘인성의 강조’, ⓑ ‘직관의 부활’, ⓒ ‘명상의 적용’ 등의 주제들과 정제두의 사상이 만나는 접점 및 시사점들에 대해 살펴보았다. 이어서 본 연구에서는 5종의 『윤리와 사상』교과서에 수록된 한국양명학 관련 내용들을 비판적으로 검토하고, 특히 정제두의 사상 가운데 도덕과 교육 내로 도입이 시급하다고 판단되는 요소들을 ‘중국양명학과의 차이점 부각’ 및 ‘도덕과 교육에서 유념해야 할 공부의 목표와 방법’ 중심으로 선정하였다. 그리고 그 요소들을 『윤리와 사상』교과서로 수용하기 위해 학습자용 언어로의 전환을 시도하였다.
