The aim of this study is to show the ground of ggum, ggi, happiness education which is based on the 2009 revision of the current government's national curriculum from the perspective of holistic education. Holistic education is a fundamental relationship centeredness. It focuses the local community, global community, and inner world. Human nature is an indivisible unity. What we are convinced of the make-up of our human nature largely determines what we are convinced about our educational philosophy. Educator must realized that all educational practices are built upon assumptions rooted in a view of human, and that different view of human starting points may lead to basic educational practices. Ggum, ggi, happiness education is grand project of current government as the solution of raising creativity ability, building characters and preventing school violence. The government undertakes the national mission to reform the education system that focuses only on college entrance. The harmful effect of college entrance examination system blocks normal school education and destroys wholebeing education and prompting private tutoring for college entrance exams. In this regard, holistic education expands the perspective and raise possibilities of public education and the educational importance of inner life by offering the viewpoint of relationship of human view, social view, and world view.

이 연구는 2009개정 교육과정에 기반한 현 교육과정의 지표인 ‘꿈과 끼를 기르는 행복교육’[꿈, 끼, 행복교육]의 의미를 홀리스틱 교육의 시각에서 접근하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 홀리스틱 교육은 관계성을 근본으로 하는 접근으로서, 인간교육이란 자기가 속한 지역공동체와 전 지구적 공동체 그 리고 자기 내면세계와의 관계성의 중요성과 그 영향을 학생에게 인식하게 하고 실천하게 하는 것이 다. ‘꿈과 끼를 기르는 행복교육’의 특징은 이타실천을 통한 더불어 함께 사는 정신을 가진 심력과 실력 있는 존재를 위한 홀리스틱 교육으로의 전환이어야 한다. 에컨대 자유학기제를 통하여 창의 인성교육, 진로교육 및 학교폭력을 예방하며, 학생 주도형 자기주도학습, 동아리활동, 융복합교육 (STEAM), 배움중심수업과 평가 등이 그러한 것이다, 이를 통하여 교육현장에서 공교육의 파행을 극 복하려는 것이다. ‘꿈, 끼, 행복교육’은 홀리스틱 교육의 시각에서, 관계성에 기초한 개인의 자기를 둘러싼 외적 환경과 내적 자아에의 연계의식을 형성하고 자유인을 양성하는 데 기여할 수 있음을 밝혔다.
