The most important time for the development of critical thinking and creative problem solving is found in early education. Following several similar studies on chess education1, a summer Go teaching program was held at a Palos Verdes preschool to experiment benefits of Go teaching in abstract logic and cognitive thinking skills and to promote future of Go in an after school program in the school district. The Go teaching program was well received at the preschool and the WPPSI/OSLAT test between the teaching group and control group shown relative 12% improvement in child aforementioned skills.
