The main foci of future educational curriculum are improved suitability, adequacy, diversity, autonomy, and accountability of educational curriculum. Art textbooks should include reference works that enable students to experience and make works by themselves and present creation methods suitable for students' manipulatory abilities. This study analyzes pottery reference works included in 7types of 2009 edition art textbooks for their adequacy, suitability, and diversity. The analysis is done from following aspects. First, the pottery reference works made of clay included in the 7types of art textbooks are divided into basic works and advanced works and their adequacy is analyzed. Second, the diversity of students' works, traditional pottery works, modern pottery works, and foreign pottery works is analyzed. Third, the artists, materials, and production years of reference works are examined. Fourth, the suitability of reference works is analyzed. The findings of the analysis of pottery reference works included in the 7types of art textbooks can be used as basic material for the selection of art textbook.

미래형 교육 과정의 주안점은 교육 과정 적합성 제고, 교육 과정의 적정화, 교육 과정의 다양화, 교육 과정의 자율화, 교육 과정의 책무성 강화이다. 미술교과서는 학생들이 직접 체험하고 제작할 수 있는 참고작품을 소개해야 하며, 학생들의 조작능력에 맞는 적합한 제작방법을 제시해야 한다. 본 논문은 2009 개정 7종 미술교과서에 제시된 도예 관련 참고작품의 적합성과 적정화, 다양화 등을 검증하기 위해 사례를 분석하였다. 분석방법은 첫째, 7종 미술교과서에 찰흙으로 제작된 도자기 참고작품을 기준으로 기초영역과 심화영역으로 분류하여 적합성을 조사하였다. 둘째, 학생작품과 전통도자기, 현대도자기, 외국도자기 참고작품의 다양성을 분석하였다. 셋째, 참고작품의 작가명, 재료, 제작년도 등을 조사하였다. 넷째, 참고작품이 학생들에게 적합한지 분석하였다. 이 같은 내용을 토대로 7종 미술교과서에 제시된 도예 관련 참고작품을 분석하여 초등학교에서 교과서를 선택하는데 기초자료로 활용하도록 연구하는데 목적이 있다.
