The study investigated influential factors on Korean high school students’ overseas Korean receptiveness. A survey was conducted of 300 Korean high school students and mean difference analysis and regression analysis were used. The independent variables were sex, grade, economic status, experiences of meeting overseas Koreans, and ethnic identity(homogeneous nation identity and cultured nation identity). The dependent variable was overseas Korean receptiveness(ethnic exclusionism and attitudes toward overseas Koreans). The analysis revealed that overseas Korean receptiveness was statistically significant according to whether the students had ever met any overseas Koreans. Homogeneous nation identity had a negative effect on overseas Korean receptiveness, while cultured nation identity had a positive effect. This suggests that cultured nation identity needs to be encouraged for the increase of overseas Korean receptiveness, with homogeneous nation identity turned away.

본 논문은 한국 고등학생의 재외동포 수용성에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐색하기 위해 수행되었다. 고등학생 300명을 대상으로 성, 성적, 소득, 재외동포만남 여부, 민족정체성(단일민족 정체성, 문화민족 정체성)을 독립변수로, 재외동포 수용성(종족배제주의, 재외동포에 대한 태도)을 종속변수로 놓고 평균차 이 분석과 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 재외동포 수용성은 재외동포와의 만남 여부에 따라 유의미 한 차이가 있었으며, 대체로 단일민족 정체성은 재외동포 수용성에 부정적인 영향을, 문화민족 정체성은 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 재외동포에 대한 수용성을 증대시키기 위해서는 재외동포 와의 접촉 빈도를 높이고, 문화민족 정체성은 강화하며, 단일민족 정체성은 경계해야할 필요가 있음을 시 사한다.
