Why do people to be an fanatic believer? What kind of matters bring them to fanatic believer? These are the related questions to the causes of fanatic believer. The causes can be considered in various ways and it is possible to study according to each of it. Generally, the studies consider faithful factor as important or environmental factor as first cause. Fanatic believer cannot control their desire to believe. They try to religious Action repeatedly. Gradually and chronologically they fail to control the faith. Comparing with other addictions, fanatic believer has the property of work caused by personal psychology. Nevertheless, there is a tendency to treat it as same as the other ordinal faith. This is the reason that this thesis deals with psychological cause in the factors of fanatic believerin view of counseling. Mainly, faithful side and surrounding environmental side which is caused by the problem of life are at work to cause fanatic believer. Because fanatic believer is caused by the composite work of faithful character which is genetically internalized and the character which is received stimulation from life environment. But the study on these factors tries to understand fanatic believer without considering of personal psychology as important. Even though it is recognized that faithful side and environmental side cause fanatic believer, but psychological problem of the fanatic believer should be regarded as important. It suggests the study of psychological side should be done.

사람들은 왜 광신도가 되는 것일까, 어떤 요건들이 그들로 하여금 광신도에 빠져들 게 만들고 있는가? 등은 광신도의 문제에 관계된 질문들이다. 이런 문제들에는 여러 가지를 추정할 수 있고, 또 그에 따른 연구도 가능할 것이다. 대개 신앙적인 요인을 중요시하거나 환경적인 요인을 일차적인 요인으로 부각시키는 것이다. 광신도들은 신앙에 탐닉하고 싶은 욕망을 억제하지 못하고 반복적으로 종교적인 행위를 시도하며, 그것이 점진적으로 그리고 만성적으로 신앙에 빠져들고 싶은 충동 을 억제하는데 실패하고 있다. 광신도들은 개인의 심리가 가장 많이 작용하는 특성이 있음에도 불구하고 이를 정상적인 신앙과 동일하게 취급하려는 경향이 있기 때문이 다. 이는 본 논문이 광신도의 원인에서 심리적인 요인을 상담학적 관점에서 연구하고 자 하는 이유이다. 광신도들은 크게 신앙적인 측면과 생활의 문제로 인해 일어나는 주변의 환경적인 측면이 관련되어 작용되고 있다. 이는 광신도들이 종교적으로 내면화된 신앙적인 특 성과 다시 생활의 환경에서 자극받은 특성으로 인한 것들이 복합적으로 작용한 때문 일 것이다. 그러나 이런 요인들은 모두 개인의 심리를 부각시키지 않은 채 광신도를 이해하려는 입장이라고 할 수 있다. 실제로 광신도의 원인에서 종교의 신앙적인 측면과 환경적인 요인이 인정되지만, 그들의 심리적인 문제가 중요시되어야 한다고 본다. 그들의 심리적인 측면의 이해는 이들을 도울 수 있는 바탕이 되기 때문이다. 이는 광신도의 심리적인 측면이 연구되 어야 함을 시사한다는 점에서 우리는 광신도에 대해서 그 원인과 해결점을 심리 및 병리적인 차원에서 찾고자 한다. 그리하여 우리는 그에 대한 상담치료적인 대응을 시 도하고자 한다.
