The Religious heritages of Korea has come to Korean church with the intellectual heritage that read the Buddhist and the Confucian scriptures as a teaching of the way to the true humanity. In such a religious soil, Korean church has actively accepted and developed the Bible-centered piety of the Reformed tradition. Daily devotional meditation or Daily Bible reading and prayer is one of representative practices of the piety. Books or manuals for the devotional reading and prayer are, day by day, getting multiple in a new way. Recently, Morning prayer meetings of several churches started to use the Daily reading manuals for the meeting. Morning prayer meeting is a way of practicing the daily devotion and piety of Korean church; the meeting is centered at preaching and meditation on the words of the Bible. However, due to the reality of preachers' heavy burdened preaching works, churches want to use proved daily manuals as an alternative to the source and guideline for their teachings and meditations on the Bible. But, one thing to be noted is that the published books or manuals for the daily reading and meditation are not grounded on a theological and ecclesiastical orientation; many of them select and arrange daily readings for each day according to their own intentions and purposes. Thus, considering its pastoral context, Korean church needs to have a theologically balanced daily readings fitting to the church year. Therefore, this study purposes to compare published daily readings for the public use with daily lectionaries oriented to the church year and proposes a possibility of daily lectionary readings for the use of the morning prayer meeting of Korean church. This study consists of four parts: first, it surveys published books and manuals of daily Bible reading and ecclesiastical fields of using them. It includes "Maeil Sunggyoung," "Saengmyoung Ui Salm," "Nalmada Sothnun Saemmul," "M'Cheyne Bible Reading Plan," "The Daily Message." The second part of this study introduces and surveys "Losung" and "Daily Lectionary." Both of them are used for the purpose of communal prayer meetings of churches of Germany or Presbyterian, Anglican, and Lutheran church of the North America. The third part of this study compares the public daily readings of Korean church with Losung and Daily Lectionary. The last part of this study proposes a possible way to have our own daily readings for the daily morning prayer meeting where a faithful community gathers to pray together with the words of the Bible and go out for the pious life of christian.

한국의 종교 유산은 경전 중심의 신앙으로 불교와 유교 경전을 참된 인간성의 실 현을 위한 삶의 규범으로 읽어온 지적 유산과 함께 한다. 그러한 종교적 토양 안에서 한국교회는 개혁교회의 성경 중심의 신앙을 적극적으로 수용, 발전시켰다. 그에 대한 대표적인 실천이 말씀 묵상집을 활용한 개인의 매일말씀 묵상, 혹은 매일성서 읽기이 다. 개인의 매일 말씀 묵상을 위한 교재들도 날로 새롭게 개발되어 사용되고 있다. 근 래 새벽기도회에서도 매일 말씀 묵상집을 사용하고 있는 교회들이 늘어나고 있다. 새 벽기도회는 한국교회의 매일 경건을 위한 훈련으로 말씀 묵상이 그 중심에 있다. 새 벽기도회는 성도 개인과 교회를 위한 매일의 경건의 실천이며, 매일의 삶을 성경의 말씀에 기초하여 신앙적 윤리 공동체로 세워가는 중심 실천이다. 그러나 새벽기도회 가 목회자들에게 설교에 대한 막중한 부담을 주는 현실 속에서 교회들은 몇 몇 검증 된 매일 말씀 묵상집들을 새벽기도회의 설교와 말씀 묵상을 위한 대안 교재로 사용하 고 있다. 그러나 매일 말씀 묵상집들이 제공하는 본문들은 신학적인 체계나 교회력에 따르지 않고, 대부분 자의적인 기준에 따라 선정되고 배열된 본문들이다. 따라서 한국 교회의 목회적 상황을 고려하면서 신학적 체계성과 교회력에 따른 균형적 구성을 갖 춘 매일말씀 묵상, 혹은 매일성서 읽기의 방식이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 오늘날 대중화된 매일말씀 묵상집(Q.T.)과 교회력에 따른 매일 성구집(Lectionary)를 비교 연 구하여, 한국교회의 목회적 상황에 부합하고, 교회력에 맞춘 매일성서 읽기 방식을 제 안하고자 한다. 본 연구는 크게 네 부분으로 내용을 구성한다. 먼저, 한국교회에 대중 화된 대표적인 말씀 묵상집들에 대한 연구와 그 사용 현장에 대한 조사이다. 여기에 는 "매일성경", "생명의 삶", "날마다 솟는 샘물"과 "성경읽기 계획", "맥체인 성경읽기 ", "The Daily Message" 등이다. 본 연구의 두 번째 부분은 앞선 한국교회의 개인을 위한 매일 묵상집들과 달리, 독일과 북미의 교회나 신앙 공동체가 그들의 공식적인 예배와 기도의 모임에서 사용하기 위해 만든 말씀 묵상집으로, 독일의 '로중'(Losung) 과 미국의 장로교, 루터교, 성공회가 공동으로 만든 '매일성서일과'(Daily Lectionary) 이다. 세 번째 내용은 앞서 소개한 두 가지 상이한 방식들에 대한 비교이다. 마지막 네 번째 내용은, 앞선 비교연구를 통해 한국교회의 목회적 상황에 맞으며, 한국교회의 성무일과로서 개인과 더불어 교회의 말씀과 경건 생활의 장인 새벽기도회에 적용 가 능한 성경 읽기를 제안하게 된다.
