With its subject, ‘The New Materials of Woodblock Novels and the Tasks Left for Them’, this study has examined the introduction and significance of gyeongpanbon Guunmong and Jangpungunjeon with the backing paper of gyeongpanbon Jegalmuhujeon, Sodaeseongjeon, Suhoji, Imjinrok, Joungjeon, Chunhyangjeon, wanpanbon Joungjeon, and anseongpanbon Heungbujeon and also investigated the operation of Woodblock companies, aspects of issuing wanpanbon, Hyogyo Banggakso and Songdong Banggakso, the publishers of gyeongpan, and some of the problems found in early gyeongpanbon. The contents mainly discussed here in this paper can be summed up as follows:Gyeongpanbon Jegalmuhujeon was published in Namgok Banggakso. This banggakso published the complete editions of Chinese novel Samgukji with the titles of Dowongyeoluirok and Jegalmuhujeon. And about gyeongpanbon Sodaeseongjeon, the researcher examined 30Jangbon and discussed the possibility of presence of the panbon preceding 36Jangbon as well as the features of Hyogyo Banggakso. While looking into gyeongpanbon Suhoji, the study examined the fact that 3Gwon3Chaekbon was made by dividing gyeongpanbon into several volumes and also how gyeongpanbon was rented at the book rental shop. And with gyeongpanbon Joungjeon, the author studied the problems lying in the poor distribution of Woodbiock. Also, examining gyeongpanbon Imjinrok, the study suggested the possibility of presence of the panbon’s lines or forms as 6 lines. In addition, while studying gyeongpanbon Chunhyangjeon and anseongpanbon Heungbujeon, it mentioned how banggak company Songdong had been related with anseongpanbon. Also, examining wanpanbon Joungjeon, the author supposes that the jeongsabon was published in 1857 and also looked into the ways to save production cost through wanpan or the reduction of pages. Lastly, investigating gyeongpanbon Guunmong and Jangpungunjeon as the leaves of the books, the study explains the situation that shows the former was carved and distributed in 1749, and the latter was around 1722.

이 글은 방각본 소설의 새 자료와 과제라는 주제로, 경판본 『제갈무후전』, 『소대성전』, 『수호지』, 『임진록』, 『조웅전』, 『춘향전』, 완판본 『조웅전』, 안성판본 『흥부전』, 배접지를 통해서 확인한 경판본 『구운몽』과 『장풍운전』을 소개하며 그 의미를 확인했고, 더불어 기존에 논의되지 못했던 방각업체의 운영 방식, 완판본의 간행 양상, 경판본 간행소인 효교 방각소와 송동 방각소, 초기 경판본 간행에 대한 몇 가지 문제를 살펴보았다. 이 글에서 다룬 중요한 내용을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 경판본 『제갈무후전』은 남곡방각소에서 간행되었는데, 이 방각소에서는 중국소설 『삼국지』를 『도원결의록』과 『제갈무후전』이라는 제명으로 나누어 완간(完刊)했음을 확인했다. 경판본 『소대성전』은 <30장본>을 확인하면서 <36장본>에 선행하는 판본이 존재할 가능성과 효교방각소의 성격을 논의하였다. 경판본 『수호지』를 검토하면서 <3권3책본>은 경판본을 분권해서 만들었다는 점, 이 본이 세책점에서 대여되었다는 점을 살폈다. 경판본 『조웅전』을 살펴보면서 조악한 방각본의 유통 문제, 경판본 『임진록』을 검토하면서는 판본의 계열이나 형태가 6계열이 존재할 가능성을 제시했다. 그리고 경판본 『춘향전』과 안성판본 『흥부전』을 검토하면서 방각업체 송동(宋洞)과 안성판본의 관계에 대해 언급했다. 또한 완판본 『조웅전』을 검토하면서 정사본(丁巳本)은 1857년에 간행되었다고 보았으며, 완판 또한 장수의 축소를 통하여 생산단가를 절약하는 방안이 있었음을 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 낱장으로 확인한 경판본 『구운몽』과 『장풍운전』을 검토하면서 전자는 1749년, 후자는 1722년경에 판각되어 유통되었던 정황을 설명하였다.
