This study attempted to examine the relationship between the aggressiveness of early teenagers, parental attachment, and hours of computer use. For such purpose of this study, a Growth Modeling with HLM was set up to analyze KYPS(Korean Youth Panel Study) which traced and investigated 2,844 4th graders nationwide except Jeju Island repetitiously for 5 years until they became 8th graders in middle school. The following are the summary of the results of the study: Firstly, the change in the hours of computer use according to the passage of time was analyzed with the unconditional linear model and the unconditional quadratic function model and the results confirmed that the hours of computer use show a pattern of curved increasing in quadratic function model. Secondly, the conditional model was set up to analyze and confirm the factors which affect the hours of computer use among early teenagers. The results showed that the aggressiveness in the first year (4th grade) and parental attachment had meaningful influence during the early stage of computer use. And the factor which affects the rate of change of the hours of computer use is aggressiveness. The change in the hours of computer use as they become lower aggressive shows mainly liner model. But the change in the hours of computer use as they become higher aggressive shows a pattern of increasing curved in increasing pattern of the hours of computer use. Suggestions for future research, the limitation of this study, and the implications were discussed.

본 연구에서는 초기 청소년의 공격성, 부모애착과 컴퓨터 사용 시간의 관계를 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 제주도를 제외하고 전국의 초등학교 4학년 학생 2844명을 대상으로 중학교 2학년까지 5년간 반복, 추적 조사한 한국청소년패널자료를 HLM을 활용한 성장모형(Growth Modeling)을 통하여 분석하였다. 본 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 시간의 흐름에 따른 컴퓨터 사용 시간의 변화에 대하여 무조건 선형모형과 무조건 이차함수모형을 적용하여 분석한 결과, 컴퓨터 사용 시간은 이차함수 형태로 곡선적으로 증가하는 패턴을 나타내는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 초기 청소년기 컴퓨터 사용 시간에 대한 영향 요인들을 확인하기 위해 조건모형을 구성하여 분석한 결과, 1차년도(초 4)의 공격성, 부모애착은 컴퓨터 사용 시간의 초기치에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 그리고 공격성은 컴퓨터 사용 시간의 변화율에도 영향을 미쳤다. 초기 청소년들의 공격성이 낮을수록 컴퓨터 사용 시간이 선형으로 변화하나 공격성이 높을수록 컴퓨터 사용 시간 증가 패턴이 곡선적인 형태로 가속도가 붙는다. 이상의 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점을 논의하였다.
