The purpose of this research is to improve policies and institutional support system by developed countries To leap To perform policing duties in the field and want to lose the quality of life paradigm peddling to protect the country from the Republic of Korea needs to give for various offenses for strong physical strength of police officer. In order to achieve these goals, we have analyzed development plan for the problems of the physical strength evaluation that conducted for the entire police officers after appointment to black when employing physical examination and looking at the literature, such as police officers fitness related articles, physical strength evaluation adopted laws. The development plan, derived from current problems in physical strength evaluation for police officers, intends to establish suitable physical strength management and to build effective physical strength evaluation. The specific contents are as follows. First, to prevent the powerless police in advance, using advanced measuring devices for trustworthy identification physical strength dividend score regardless of hiring fields the introduction is required. Second, in order to gain the powerful police capabilities specific physical strength exams event which are compound of professional performance test as well as systematical approach is needed and arranged. Third, achieving civilian's trust on officers for advanced public safety infrastructure, and practical physical strength evaluation standards must be raised, as well as systematical approach. Fourth, specific physical strength evaluation event that reflect policing fields in order to prevent officers injuries and others during operations, as well as systematical approach. Fifth, for trustworthy physical strength evaluation advanced measuring devices and systematical and infrastructural measures are necessary to prevent death or other serious injuries during physical strength evaluation.

본 연구는 각종 치안현장에서 임무를 수행하는 경찰공무원의 강인한 체력구축을 위해 제도 적인 지원체제의 근거를 마련하고자 했다. 따라서 경찰공무원 체력검사 및 체력검정 관계 법 령 등 문헌자료를 검토하고, 체력검사 및 체력검정의 현황에 따른 문제점을 분석하여 발전방 안을 제시하였다. 경찰공무원 체력검사 및 체력검정의 문제점은 첫째, 경찰공무원 채용 시 분야별 체력검사의 배점이 상이한 것이다. 둘째, 부적합한 체력검사 종목이 실행되고 있다. 셋째, 경찰공무원의 체력검정 기준이 약화되어 업무수행 능력이 저하된다. 넷째, 단순화된 체력검정 종목으로 체 력검정을 실행하고 있다. 다섯째, 검정 실시방법의 비체계화 및 형식적인 검정을 들 수 있다. 이러한 문제점에서 도출한 발전방안은 크게 직무적합 체력검사 구축 방안과 체계적인 체력 검정 관리 방안으로 대별되며, 구체적인 내용은 다음과 같은 다섯 가지로 볼 수 있다. 첫째, 경찰공무원의 체력부족으로 인한 치안력 약화를 방지하기 위해서 채용분야의 경계 없는 체 력검사 배점의 균등한 적용이 요구된다. 둘째, 경찰업무에 적합한 전문체력 운동능력 중심의 효율적인 체력검사 종목 운용이 필요하다. 셋째, 경찰공무원의 체력향상을 위한 체력검정 기 준의 상향 조정이 요구된다. 넷째, 치안현장에서 경찰공무원에게 요구되는 다양한 운동능력 으로 체력검정 종목이 운용되어야 한다. 다섯째, 체력검정 도중 순직․공상 방지를 위한 체계 적이고 과학적인 체력검정 실행방법을 구축해야 한다.
