This study aims at figuring out polarization of Korean farming household income and its impact factors. For the analysis, except for metropolitan areas and Jeju-do, eight provincial regions were included in the spatial scope, and raw data on farming household economic surveys by KOSTAT were used. Polarization analysis was done with Wolfson polarization index, and in order to study impact factors, panel linear regression analysis applied with fixed effect model was used. The research results are summarized as follows: First, middle income share of middle-class between 2000 and 2011 was continuously declining from 49.23% to 32.4%. Second, as the results of analysis of farming household income polarization by using Wolfson polarization index, the polarization phenomenon had been increasing average more than 0.2 since 2007, and in 2011, it increased dramatically in every region except for Gyeonggi-do. Third, the analysis of impact factors of polarization showed number of households among business feature variables and asset(capital) and area of cultivated land among capital feature variables had impacts on the polarization.

본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 농가소득의 양극화와 이에 대한 영향요인을 규명하는 것이다. 분석대상 지역은 광역시와 제주도를 제외한 전국 8개도이고, 분석 자료는 통계청의 농가경제조사 원자료(raw data)를 이용하였다. 양극화 분석은 Wolfson지수를 사용하였고, 영향요인을 규명하기 위해 고정효과 모형을 적용한 패널 선형회귀분석을 이용하였다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 2000년부터 2011년까지 중산층의 중위소득점유율은 49.23%에서 31.47%까지 지속적으로 하락하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, Wolfson지수를 이용해 농가소득 양극화를 분석한 결과, 평균적으로 양극화 현상은 2007년부터 0.2 이상으로 점차 증가하고 있고, 2011년은 경기도를 제외한 전체 지역에서 큰 폭으로 증가했다. 셋째, 양극화의 영향요인 분석은 경영특성변수의 가구원수, 자산특성변수의 자산(자금)과 경지면적이 농가소득 양극화에 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다.
