The zeitgeist of knowledge-based society is change and innovation. In response to its request, college education is being asked to do convergence education. And general education as the basis of convergence education is strengthened. The purpose of the present study is to explore an instructional support model for convergence education with the form of class-specific courses in general education. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, first, theory and policy research on general education and theory of instructional supportive environment were summarized. Second, the theory of convergence education and instructional support system for general education were investigated. Third, a model of instructional support system for convergence education was suggested with the form of class-specific courses in general education. General education as the core values of university education is not teach a specific knowledge and skills, however, it’s purpose is to cultivate students’ ability to understand, judge, and utilize them in daily social life. Thus, in order to operate convergence education with the form of class-specific courses in general education, we should appropriately utilize various conditions and environments such as instructional design, educational methods, instructional support system, and support agencies.

지식기반사회의 시대정신은 변화와 혁신이다. 이와 같은 시대정신에 부응하여 대학교육은 융복합교육이 요청되고 있으며, 융복합교육의 기초로서 교양교육이 강화되면서 이와 관련되는 연구와 실천이 대학사회를 중심으로 활발하게 전개되고 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 우리나라 교양교육과정을 구성하는 여러 강좌를 그 성격에 따라 몇 가지 유형으로 분류하고, 강좌 유형별로 효과적인 융복합교육을 위한 수업지원체제 모형을 탐색·제안하는 것이다. 먼저, 교양교육을 위한 국내의 이론연구와 정책연구를 종합·고찰하고 수업지원환경에 대한 이론을 고찰하였다. 둘째, 융복합교육과 교양교육 지원체제의 이론을 고찰하였다. 셋째, 융복합 교양교육을 위한 지원체제의 모형을 교양교육 강좌 분류에 따라서 제시하였다. 그러나 대학의 핵심가치로서 교양교육은 특정한 지식을 가르치는 데 있지 않고, 지식을 이해하고 판단하고, 실행하는 데 바탕이 되는 능력 배양이 목적이다. 따라서 교양강좌가 융복합형 교육과정으로 운영되어 교양교육 목적 달성에 도움이 되기 위해서는 기본적으로 교수설계, 교수방법, 수업지원체제, 지원기관 등을 강좌 운영의 상황에 따라 다양하게 활용하여야 할 것이다.
