- The paper aims to demonstrate the usefulness of incorporating corpus search techniques into Korean-English translation classes where English is the students’ B language. To this end, the paper frist gives a brief overview of the literature advocating the utilization of corpora in translation trainee training. After that, it focuses on COCA (the Corpus of Contemporary American English) as the most useful large-scale public English corpus for the present study’s purposes, offers a summary account of its key search functions and showcases a variety of search strategies as they are applied to resolving three types of collocational errors, using examples drawn from the author’s translation classes.
