The purpose of this study is to analysis of economic multiplier impacts of 2012Uiseong Garlic International Kite-Flying Festival, using the regional input-output(I-O)model. For the research, the Regional Input-Output Analysis was used, which makes iteasy to grasp the economic impact of the tourism industry and other industries inUiseong. Based on the regional I-O transactions tables which were developed by Bankof Korea(2009), the industry multipliers were derived with respect to output, income,and value-added. The results show that in 2012 Uiseong Garlic International Kite-Flying Festivalreceipts generated output impact of 1,639 million won, Production induce impact 2,112million won and 120 million won of income impact, 1,021 million won of value-addedimpact, respectively. I think the result of this study can be used as an objectiveindicator to help to establish and implement regional festival policies for the localgovernment. Uiseong Garlic International Kite-Flying Festival Has been evaluated as utilizing the concept of 'Kite' traditional cultural heritage of our country. The regional economicimpact analysis of the regional festival showed very meaningful as a means ofregional economic policy to local governments. Local government Will be induced toparticipate more and more tourists by building a close relationship with the industryassociation, such as the local attractions, cultural sites, restaurants, lodging in order toexpand the economic effects of the local festivals.

1991년 지방자치제가 부활하면서 지역경제 활성화의 한 방법으로 각 지방자치단체들은다양한 지역축제를 발굴하여 지역의 이미지 제고를 통한 지역관광수익사업을 활발하게추진하여 왔다. 본 연구는 지역축제가 지방자치단체의 경제활성화에 크게 기여한다는 인식하에, 산업연관모델을 이용하여 “2012의성마늘국제 연날리기대회”의 경제적 파급효과를분석하고자 한다. 지역축제의 총 경제성 분석을 위해 한국은행(2009)에서 직접 작성한 ‘지역산업연관표’를 활용하여 산업승 수(생산유발계수, 수입유발계수, 부가가치유발계수)를 살펴보았다. 2012의성마늘국제연날리기대회가 의성지역에 미치는 총 경제적 파급효과를 분석한 결과,축제기간중 방문 객의 총 지출액인 16억 4천만원이 지역경제에 미치는 생산유발효과 21억1천만원으로 산출되었고, 수입유 발효과는 1억 2천만원, 부가가치유발효과는 10억 2천만원으로 나타났다. 의성마늘국제연날리기대회가 우리나라의 전통적인 문화유산 중 ‘연’이라는 컨셉을 잘살린 지역축제로서 평가되고 있으며, 이러한 지역축제의 경제적 파급효과 분석은 지역축제를 기획하는 지방자치단체에게 지 역경제정책의 수단으로 매우 의미가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 지역축제로 인한 경제적 효과를 확장 시키기 위해서는 지역의 관광지, 문화유적지, 식당, 숙박업 등의 산업들과 밀접한 연계관계를 구축함으로 써 관광객이 더욱많이 참여할 수 있도록 유도해야 할 것이다.
