This study is to seek a new approach of kindergarten design as a public institution in the new residential land development district by considering the role of urban context and as a facility educating the basic refinement such as development of physical strength or sociality through the children’s play. First, it is to provide a space configuration for implementation of the locality as a public educational facility in residential land development district. It is to provides a public kindergarten from the perspective of urban context, rather than the mass and elevation design to express its function simply. Second, It is to introduce the concept of Children’s play considering the usage patterns and the age of the main users. It is to suggest possibility of integrated usage between each function and cooperation with external space to occur learning through play.
