The aim of this study is to conceive the program for improving conjugal relations based on transactional analysis theory and to empirically verify its effect on conjugal relations. This study consisted of its research subjects of the 14 couples, and these subjects were divided the into the experimental group for 7 couples and the control group for another 7 couples through random sampling. This study got the experimental group to participate in one-time pre-test, five-session program, and one-time post test while conducting only the pre & post test on the control group. This program used for this study is the one for group counseling made on the basis of Berne's “Transactional Analysis Theory". Effect verification results are summed as follows: First, it might be judged that the experimental group, who went through the conjugal relations improvement program, showed more increase in scores of conjugal communication and in their marriage satisfaction. Second, considering of the difference in peacemaking ability in conjugal conflicts and conjugal adaptability between the two groups, it can be concluded that there isn't any difference. Taken together, this study results show that the transactional analysis conjugal relations improvement program is contributing to the improvement in the level of communication and marriage satisfaction of the experiment group.

본 연구의 목적은 교류분석이론을 토대로 예술활동을 활용한 부부관계향상프로그램을 구안하고, 부부간 의사소통검사, 결혼만족도, 부부갈등해결능력, 부부적응에 미치는 효과를 검증해 보려는데 있다. 연구대상자는 부부 14쌍으로 구성하였으며, 7쌍은 실험집단에 7쌍은 통제집단에 무선표집으로 배치하였다. 실험집단은 사전검사 1회, 프로그램 5회, 사후검사 1회에 참여하였고, 통제집단은 사전검사와 사후검사만 실시하였다. 본 프로그램은 Berne의 교류분석 이론을 바탕으로 하여 부부들이 자신들의 관계를 파악하고 관계의 변화에 대처하고 적응하며 발전해 나가도록 조력하는 데 목적을 두고 구성되어 있다. 연구결과를 정리해보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부부관계향상 프로그램을 실시한 실험집단이 통제집단에 비해 부부의사소통과 결혼만족도 점수가 더 높아졌다고 할 수 있다. 둘째, 부부갈등해결능력과 부부적응도에 대한 집단 간 차이를 살펴보면, 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 이를 종합해보면 교류분석 부부관계향상 프로그램은 실험집단의 의사소통과 결혼만족도의 수준향상에 기여함을 알 수 있다. 또한 결혼적응성과 부부갈등해결능력의 수준도 사전, 사후에 있어서 측정치 간에 변화가 있음은 주목할 일이다.
