In this paper, the translation aspect and feature of the hangul translation of Chunggu-unofficial historic stories from an extension of study on Cheonyerok and Dongpaeraksong was clarified. The Cheonyerok, Dongpaeraksong, Au-unofficial historic stories and Chunggu-unofficial historic stories is the existing the hangul translation in our country. Among the above unofficial historic stories, Chunggu-unofficial historic stories have large different version of approximately ten kind but the whole translation is in the Seoul National University and Garam bookstore. The study of related with the Chunggu-unofficial historic stories have accumulate a significant achievement in the meanwhile, but the problem with the hangul translation is rather to be retracted. Hence, in this paper, the original problem of hangul translation of the Chunggu-unofficial historic stories was clarified, and the translation aspect and feature of actual book was clarified. Each side of the story of Chunggu-unofficial historic stories is different from the original version. On the basis of the original version, the hangul translation was afresh written as color of the Chunggu-unofficial historic stories. A complier of the written in chinese of the Chunggu-unofficial historic stories reproduced the literature of a previous generation according to the complier's opinion. However, a translator of hangul translation was read and translated the chines version. Also, they went through the process of reading again. And they have selected a series of way in order to deliver and represent well of the each story. This study will be made the basis of study on the flow of the hangul translation of a chinese short writing narration as well as the translation of the unofficial historic stories in Latter Period Chosun Dynasty.

본고에서는 『천예록』과 『동패락송』의 한글번역본 연구의 연장선에서 『청구야담』한글번역본의 번역양상과 특징을 밝혔다. 현전하는 한글번 역본 야담에는 『어우야담』, 『천예록』, 『동패락송』, 『청구야담』의 4종이 있다. 이 중 『청구야담』은 십여 종의 많은 이본이 전하지만, 번역본은 서울대규장각본과 가람문고본의 두 본이 있다. 그동안 『청구야담』과 관 련한 연구는 상당한 업적을 축적하였지만, 한글번역본에 대해서는 더 이상의 진척을 보이지 못하고 있다. 이에 본고에서는 『청구야담』한글 번역본의 저본 문제와 실제 작품의 번역양상 및 특징을 밝히고자 하였다. 『청구야담』의 이야기 매 편은 원작과 출전을 달리한다. 번역본은 그 원작을 토대로 새롭게 『청구야담』만의 색채로 구성되며 집필되었다. 『청구야담』의 한문본 편자가 변이를 통해 전대 작품들을 한문으로 전재 하며 이야기를 편자의 의식에 맞게 쓴 것이라면, 번역본의 번역자는 이 이야기들을 읽고 번역하며 다시 읽는 과정을 거쳤다. 그리고 매 작품의 이야기를 잘 전달하고 표현하기 위해 일련의 방식을 선택하였다. 이는 번역과정에 천착하며 살핀 것으로, 서술지문의 표현방식, 서사간의 개연 성을 부여하기 위해 취한 방식, 그리고 이야기를 현재 상황에서 진행되 게끔 한 방식에서 그 특징을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 번역양상을 살피다 보니 『청구야담』의 번역자가 그 이야기들을 번역하는데 얼마만큼의 공력을 들였는지 충분히 가늠할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 조선후기 야담번 역본에서는 물론 한문서사류에 대한 한글번역의 양상과 흐름을 살피는 단초가 될 것으로 기대한다.
