This Study focuses on the chronological recognition about An Jung Gun’s life in North Korea. An Jung Gun is one of the famous and rightful hero in Korean history. In the end of the Greater Korean Empire, he gunned down Ito Hirobumi who was the head of sinister aggressor. An Jung Gun’s brave deed and life story have been made a paragon of educational text both in North and South Korea. In deed, he was eager for independence of Joseon and he did for it. His archetypical thoughts were mentioned in a paper, Theory of Oriental Peace, which was unfinished by Japanese absurd rule. Nevertheless, it has been extraordinary and grand in conception than ideas of Northeast intellectuals. In North Korea, An Jung Gun’s life story has been made as products of literary art, called An Jung Gun, shoots Ito Hirobumi. Starting as theater by Kim Il Sung in Colonial Age, it was made as movie in 1979, then released as novel in 2002. Since the beginning of the nation, they have been used as significant means to idealize Kim Il Sung’s thoughts and achievements chronologically. An Jung Gun’s historical authority was adapted and decorated with new codes and rules by the Kim’s power in varied works. However, in fact, An Jung Gun’s conviction for peace in Northeast Asia has been succeeded and constructed the flexible and unreasonable recognition as political communication tools in order to combine hero’s spirituality of the past and the present in North Korea at least. Namely, Kim Il Sung’s birth and its aura had been asked for new birth so as to meet the precedent hero and make heroic images, for example, with the leading actor who looks like Kim Il Sung. For the meaningful implicitness, I argue that Kim’s regeneration in people’s consciousness has been repeatedly consisted with chronological recognition through each version of media (drama, film, and novel) on An Jung Gun’s courageous act and significant idea in North Korea.
