The multicultural society in the Republic of Korea is changing rapidly. Koreahas had a long history of development as a culture that has been ethnicallyhomogeneous and the national identity and pride has been based on thathomogeneity. The Korean church has also developed within this traditionalhomogeneity and is not prepared for the challenges of multiculturalism that it isfacing today. There is a need to come to an understanding of the culturally basedincongruities and conflicts that come with the increase of the foreign populationin our nation and the growing number of multicultural families. And as oursociety is changing to a multicultural and multiethnic one, naturally our churchesare changing in the same way. With the increase of multicultural multiethnic families, there have beenproblems that have arisen within the families, societal conflicts and problems ineducation. There is a need for expertise to address and deal with these problems. And especially, churches must take on the responsibility and offer caring andsupport for the children of multicultural multiethnic families to ensure that theycan grow properly in faith and become responsible citizens in our society. Therefor, this study aims to find a new way in most responding to thedemands and changes for Caring for Children of Multicultural Families in ChristianEducation. For this Purpose, detailed alternatives for Multicultural Families inChristian Education are need. This research with explore Christian education methods in which the Korean church can take an active role in dealing with theproblems and challenges of multiculturalism. The first priority for the Koreanchurch is to examine the Christian educational issues of multiculturalism andstrategies to deal with these issues. For this, there will be an examination of thecurrent status of multicultural families in our nation. The problems thatmulticultural families are facing in our rapidly growing multicultural society willthen be defined. In conclusion, there will be a discussion of the directions thatthe Korean church can take in the caring of and the Christian education ofmulticultural multiethnic families and their children.

오늘 날 대한민국은 빠르게 다문화 사회로 변화하고 있다. 오랫동안 한 민족이라는민족적 정체성을 자부심으로 삼아 왔던 문화 속에서 교회 역시 다문화 시대에 대한 준비 없이 사회적 변화를 맞이하고 있다. 다문화 다인종 사회로의 변화는 교회에도 자연스럽게 다인종 다문화 교회로 변화되어가고 있다. 따라서 급격히 늘어나는 외국 인들과이로 인해 발생하는 문화적 갈등, 충돌, 고리고 변화를 올바르게 이해하는 노력이 필요하다. 다인종 다문화 가정이 늘어나면서 가정에서의 문제와 사회적인 갈등의 문제 그리고교육적인 문제가 발생하고 있다. 이러한 문제들에 대하여 전문적인 돌봄이 필요하다. 특별히 교회는 다문화 가정과 자녀들이 책임 있는 사 회인으로 그리고 올바른 그리스도인으로 성장할 수 있도록 기독교 교육적 돌봄과 지원에 적극적인 참여를 하여 야한다. 본 연구는 다문화 가정에 대한 시대적 상황과 변화를 수용하면서 다문화가정의 기독교 교육적 돌봄의 이론을 형 성하고 새로운 방향을 찾는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 점에서한국교회의 다문화화에 따른 과제를 해결하기 위하여 기독교교육적인 돌봄의 방안을 모색하고자 한다. 한국교회의 다문화화가 시작이라고 할 때 무엇보다 교육적인 측면의 연구와 전략이 필요하다. 이를 위하여 첫째 현재 우리나라의 다문화 가정의 현실을 살펴볼 것이다. 둘째 빠르게 다문화 사회로 변화하면서 다문화 가정들이 가지고 있는 문제점들을 짚어볼 것이다. 끝으로 다문화 환경 속에 다문화가정과 자녀들에 대한 교회교육의 방향성과 기독교교육적인 돌봄에 대하여 논하게 될 것이다. 이러 한 연구는 교회가기독교 교육적 돌봄을 통하여 다문화가정들이 올바른 그리스도인으로 살아가게 하는데큰 의미 가 있을 것이다.
