- The five types of discriminations in Mahāyānasaṃgraha[攝大乘論] are as follows: the discriminating of the object through the name, the discriminating of the name through the object, the discriminating of the name through the name, the discriminating of the object through the object, and the discriminating of the name and the object through the name and object. These five types of discriminations are defined in terms of all the possible relationships between the name and the object. These discriminations have certain correlations, and are synthesized at the last stage of discrimination. Jinje gives a peculiar interpretation to the last type of discrimination. This paper makes it clear that the nature of each discrimination can be apprehended more definitely when compared to the definition of Yogācāra-bhūmi[瑜伽師地論], and elucidates how he explains each discrimination in his translation of Mahāyānasaṃgraha, and how he gives a particular interpretation to the last discrimination. Also, this paper claims that the interpretation on the last discrimination is a natural conclusion of his interpretations on the four previous discriminations.

- 5종변계는 첫째 이름에 의해 대상을 변계하는 것, 둘째 대상에 의해 이름을 변계하는 것, 셋째 이름에 의해 이름을 변계하는 것, 넷째 대상에 의해 대상을 변계하는 것, 다섯째 이름과 대상에 의해 이름과 대상을 변계하는 것이다. 이 5종변계는 각각 이름과 대상의 가능한 모든 관계에 의거해서 정의되고 있다.변계들은 상호관계를 이루고 있고 마지막 변계에 의해 종합되고 있는데, 진제는 특히 마지막 변계를 독특하게 해석하고 있다. 이 논문은 『섭대승론』의 각 변계의 성격을 『유가사지론』의 정의와 비교하며 명확히 하고, 이에 주목하면서 진제가 각 변계를 어떻게 설명하고, 마지막 변계를 어떻게 독특하게 해석하게 되었나를 규명하고 있다. 그러면서 진제의 마지막 변계에 대한 독특한 해석이 앞의 네 변계에 대한 해석의 자연스런 귀결이라는 것을 주장하고 있다.
