This study focuses on choosing topics what students discuss in the multi-cultural sessions. The author analyzed the conversation among groups of six in the multi-cultural sessions for one semester. The purpose of this paper is as follows ;① to observe what kind of topics are talked about in the multi-cultural sessions ② to investigate characteristic of the topics in their conversation. This study aims to reveal what they discuss in the multi-cultural sessions. Hence, I recorded their conversation in the multi-cultural sessions for one semester, transcribed the conversation and classified the data according to topics. I chose topics which were talked in the some groups from that classified data, as common topics. And then, I analyzed what kinds of topic appear in the multi-cultural sessions. The result indicates that a lot of topics appeared regarding childhood and school education in Japan, as common topics, in case a particular subject was assigned; furthermore, these cultural schema include topics that is applied to topic schema among Japanese students for first time they met. It is suggested that taking the multi-cultural session contribute to the promotion of contact with cultural schema.
