- This study is a foundational research on schemes to enhance efficiency of school facility investment on rebuilding or reconstruction. This study shows that when we extend or remodel junior high and primary schools based on the policy of a certain year, it is better to have an established comprehensive facility plan for the school, including not only the current construction need of the year but also facility demand in the future for the education institution considering all the insufficient educational environment. This study also shows that such school facility planning will save educational finances by preventing duplicate investment and improving educational environment effectively. By the result of the analysis, I suggest that when we make judgement on extension and reconstruction of the school facility, we need to consider the class circumstance for the 7th educational curriculum implementation as well as spaces for a lifelong-education of a local community, and to reflect these factors in organizing school's environment in the long term.

- 본 연구는 초․중등학교 증‧개축 시 당해 교육정책에 의해 필요한 교실뿐만 아니라 학교의 전반적으로 부족한 교육환경을 고려하여 향후 필요한 교육시설을 포함 종합계획을 수립함으로서 전체 교육기능의 원활함과 중복투자 방지를 통해 교육재정의 절감은 물론 교육여건을 개선하기 위한 기초연구이다. 분석 결과 증·개축 판단에 영향을 미치는 요소와 향후 필요한 교육과정에서 필요로 하는 교실환경 및 지역사회 평생교육공간으로서 필요한 공간요소를 도출하여 학교의 중‧장기적 환경 구성에 이를 반영하는 것이 필요함을 제시하였다.
