The purpose of this study was analysis on the physique and BMI of children and adolescents according to the period of menarches. For this study, subjects were composed 271 female hight school students in p area, the groups were divided according to the period of menarches like early(n=20), normal(n=142) and late(n=109) menarche group. The date of physique and menarches were collected from student health record and questionnaire by teacher in charge. The results to obtain from the study were as follows; First, height showed significant different on first grade at elementary school in early menarche group and it was not significantly effects on sixth grade at elementary school, third grade middle school and high school in each groups. Second, weight was not significant different on frist and sixth grade at elementary school, third grade middle school and high school in each groups. Third, BMI was not significant different on frist and sixth grade at elementary school, third grade middle school and high school in early, normal and late menarche group.

본 연구는 초경시기별 아동, 청소년의 신장과 체중 및 BMI에 어떠한 차이가 있는지 알아보기 위하여 확률표집에 의한 군집표집방법으로 P지역 여자고등학교 3학년 총 271명에 관한 체격자료와 문진으로 수집한 초경자료를 빠 른초경집단(n=20), 초경집단(n=142), 늦은초경집단(n=109) 등 초경시기별로 분석한 결과, 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었 다. 첫째, 신장은 빠른초경집단, 초경집단, 늦은초경집단별 초1, 초6, 중3, 고3 시기 중 초 1집단에서만 빠른초경집 단이 유의하게 큰 것으로 나타났으며 초6, 중3, 고3 시기에 따라 집단별 차이는 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 체 중은 빠른초경집단, 초경집단, 늦은초경집단별 초1, 초6, 중3, 고3 시기에 따라 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났 다. 셋째, BMI는 빠른초경집단, 초경집단, 늦은초경집단별 초1, 초6, 중3, 고3 시기별 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다.
