We investigated the effect of eyelash extension on eyelashes health problems, and also showed that how effective eyelash nutritional supplements available in the market could be for preventing eyelash damage. In a group right the eyelashes naturally without using nutritional supplements after eyelash extension, the thickness and length of their eyelashes were thinner and shorter than they were before the extension, respectively. It also has been demonstrated by the scanning electron microscope (SEM) that cuticles of the eyelashes got damaged severely by the extension. It seems that these changes resulted in the bending of the eyelash shape unpleasantly. However, the condition of the eyelashes treated with common nutritional supplements after the extension were as good as that of healthy eyelashes before the extension. Taken together, we demonstrated that the eyelash extension causes a high degree of damage to eyelashes and use of appropriate supplements could protect the health of eyelashes from such damage.
