- This paper sums up and discusses the interview data of Korean government institutions’ personnels in charge of translation. The dataa bout the characteristics of the personnel, translation process,translation quality control shows which problems exist in government institutions’ translation and what makes that problems. Government institutions’ translation is still far behind of systematic practice orquality control, partly because of frequent replacement of personnels-in-charge; translation as a small part of the personnel’sworkload, not as a main focus; open tendering to find translation suppliers, in which price is concerned much more than quality.
