Church education leaders in charge of church education and senior pastors with the final responsibility for church education have important effects on church education but do not receive education corresponding to their importance. This study analyzed the Christian education curriculum in the theological seminary curriculums of seven major religious orders in South Korea and discussed the tasks of bringing up Christian education professionals based on the analysis results. The study thus proposed the roles and importance of senior pastors and church education leaders in church education and analyzed the theological seminary curriculums and Christian education courses of PTS, GTS, KTS, HTS, KMTS, STS, and KBTS. The analysis results reveal that church education leaders received no education corresponding to their responsibility in the theological seminary curriculum in South Korea in spite of their long service in church education. Based on the results, the study proposed to innovate a curriculum based on the needs of church, expand the education to include various professional ministers beyond pastors, and establish a Christian education society for the improvement of theological seminary curriculum. The study further proposed to expand the Christian education courses in a theological seminary curriculum, introduce a system of pastor or director of Christian education as a Christian education professional, and provide today’s pastors with unified standard textbooks related to Christian education in order to bring up church education professionals.

교회교육을 책임진 교육 지도자나 교회교육의 최종 책임을 지고 있는 담임목사는 교회교육에 중요한 영향을 미치면서도 이에 상응하는 교육을 받지 못하고 있다. 이 논문은 한국에서의 중요 7개 교단의 신학대학원 교육 과정에서 기독교교육 교과를 분석하고, 그 결과를 바탕으로 기독교교육 전문가 양성 과제를 논의하였다. 이를 위해 교회교육에서 담임목사와 교회교육 지도자의 역할과 중요성을 각각 제시하고, 장신대, 총신대, 고 신대, 한신대, 감신대, 서울신대, 침신대의 신학대학원 커리큘럼과기독교교육학 교과 개설 현황을 분석하였다 . 이 분석을 통해 한국에서의 신학대학원 교육과정에서 오랫동안 교회교육에 종사하는 교육 지도자가 그 책임 에 상당하는 교육을 받고있지 못함을 발견하였다. 이 연구 결과를 바탕으로 신학대학원 커리큘럼 개선에 대해 교회의 필요를 기반으로 한 커리큘럼 혁신, 목회자를 넘어 다양한 전문사역자 양성으로 확대, 신대원에 기독 교교육학회 설치를 제안하였다. 또한 교회교육 전문가 양성을 위해 신학대학원 커리큘럼에서 기독교교육학 교과의 확대, 교회교육 전문가로서의 교육목사 혹은교육사 제도의 도입, 기독교교육학회 차원에서 목회자 양 성에 필요한 통일된 기독교교육학 관련 표준교과를 제시할 것을 제안하였다.
