This study analyzed Goyang medical tourism components, using the Medical Tourism Model suggested by Ko (2011). Based on the model, Identified were six components of Goyang medical tourism system which are the medical tourists, areas, medical tourist generating region (MTGR), medical tourist destination region (MTDR), medical tourism products, suppliers, intermediaries and related services. It was found that the number of medical tourists is on drastic increase since 2011 when Goyang medical tourism was officially and strategically launched by the Tourism Development Division of the City Government and Goyang Medical Tourism Association with 16 hospitals. This study is a preliminary research to collect data and background information on Goyang medical tourism industry for further research for theoretical research to hopefully develop its medical tourism industry to the next level.
