The purpose of this study was to investigate teacher’s safety recognition and needs of physical environment for the inclusive education in children education institutes. A questionnaire was developed based on prior literature, research and arrangements with early childhood professionals, and used to collect data. The questionnaire is composed of 2 items of 43 questions related to teacher’s safety recognition and needs of physical environment for inclusive education in children education institutes. The subjects used in this study were 255 early childhood teachers at child care center and kindergarten. Data analysis was conducted by ANOVA and Scheffé. The results of this study indicated that there were significant differences partially among the groups in teacher’s safety recognition and needs of physical environment for inclusive education in children education institutes.

본 연구의 목적은 장애유아 통합교육을 위한 유아교육기관의 물리적 환경에 대한 교사의 안전 인식 및 요구를 조사, 분석함으로써 장애유아 통합교육 환경에 있어서 안전한 교실 환경을 구성할 수 있는 효율적인 지침을 마련하는데 있다. 관련 변인에 대한 교사들의 인식과 요구를 분석하기 위해 문헌분석, 전문가 집단, 유아교사 등의 협의를 통해 설문지를 개발한 후 연구 자료를 수집하였다. 개발된 설문지는 장애유아 통합교육을 위한 유아교육기관의 물리적 환경에 대한 교사의 인식과 요구의 2개 하위 영역으로 구분하여 총 43문항으로 구성하였다. 연구대상은 유치원과 어린이집에 재직 중인 유아교사 255명이었으며, 수집된 자료는 일원변량(ANOVA)분석을 실시하였고 추후분석으로는 Scheffé 검증을 실시하였다. 검증결과 장애유아 통합교육을 위한 유아교육기관의 물리적 환경에 대한 교사의 안전 인식과 요구는 교사의 배경 변인인 교육경력, 학력, 기관유형에 따라 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
