This study aims to analyze the relationships between product liability risk management techniques and performance. Six hypotheses are established in order to accomplish this study and these hypotheses are tested to analyze the relationship between the performance of product liability risk management and firm size, firm experience and risk management techniques. In according to the results of this study, it is proved that the performance of product liability risk management is higher for large-scaled firms than for small-scaled firms. this may be because bigger firms are equipped with conditions to be able to manage the product liability risk more efficiently than smaller ones are. Furthermore, in results of multiple regression analysis, it is fined that there is significantly positive(+) relationships between the performance of product liability risk management and loss-control techniques, separation techniques, insurance techniques respectively. This finding implies that loss-control, separation and insurance techniques among the risk management techniques should be used to manage the product liability risk effectively in IT firms.

최근 우리나라 IT기업은 괄목할 만한 성장을 하여 IT korea에 건설에 큰 기여를 하고 있다. 그러나 제조물책입법의 입법으로 기업을 둘러싼 환경이 변화되었기 때문에 생산물배상책임 리스크 관리의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 이에 비해 아직까지는 우리나라의 생산물배상책임 리스크 관리에 대한 학문적인 연구가 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 그 동안 선진국에서 발전되어 온 리스크 관리이론들을 토대로 국내 IT기업들이 생산물배상책임리스크를 관리할 수 있는 관리기법을 고찰하고, 기업특성, 리스크 인식, 리스크 관리기법, 관리성과와의 관계를 실증적으로 분석하여 효율적인 생산물배상책임리스크 관리기법과 대응방안을 제시하였다.
