The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of science activities using science notebooks based on the reflective thinking of young children’s scientific inquiry competences and self-control. The subjects of this research were a total of 40 young children at age 5 from two classes in G, which is located in G city. The subjects were randomly assigned to two groups. The collected data were analyzed by t-test using SPSS program. The results of this study were as follows: the experimental group which conducted the science activities using science notebooks based on the reflective thinking showed significantly higher improvement of young children’s scientific inquiry competences and self-control. Therefore, it could be concluded that science activities using science notebooks based on reflective thinking contributed to the development of scientific inquiry competences and self-control of young children.

본 연구는 반성적 사고에 기초한 과학탐구노트 활용 과학활동이 유아의 과학적 탐구능력 및 자기통제력이 미치는 영향을 분석하여 그 효과를 검증 해 봄으로써 실제 유아교육 현장에서 활용가능한 교육적 방향과 교수학습방법을 모색하고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 만 5세 유아 40명을 대상으로 실험집단에는 반성적 사고에 기초한 과학탐구노트 활용 과학활동을 실시하고 비교집단에는 전통적인 과학활동을 실시한 뒤 과학적 탐구능력검사와 자기통제력 검사를 실시하였다. 연구결과 반성적 사고에 기초한 과학탐구노트 활용 과학활동이 유아의 과학적 탐구능력 전체 점수와 하위영역인 관찰, 분류, 예측, 측정, 토의에서 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 또한 반성적 사고에 기초한 과학탐구노트 활용 과학활동이 유아의 자기조절력 전체 점수와 하위영역인 행동억제, 정서성에서 효과적인 것으로 나타났다.
