A basic interest of the missional ecclesiology is to understand the ontological essence of the church in terms of "mission as the church" to be sent from the trinity God to the world. However, the missional ecclesiology could not combine the ontological essence and the functional form of the church, separate these two side of the church, and tends to ignore importance of the functional form of the church. This article criticizes the negative side of the missional ecclesiology recently introduced into the Korean church, and seeks to combine the ontological essence and the functional form of the church so as to suggest the more balanced pastoral ministry renewal strategy. For this purpose, this article examines firstly the academic background, definition, and directing point of the missional ecclesiology discussed within the North American churches after 1980's. The middle part of the pager deals with the ecclesiology as the organic living thing in the ecclesiological ecosystem, within which the dynamic triangular relations between the Gospel, the church, and culture can be applied into the pastoral ministry renewal strategy. The latter part of the article suggests the more practical and strategic methods how to investigate the contextual situation and transformation process how to set up the normative directing point of the local church. With these examination, this paper seeks the practical strategy with which the local church pastors could renew their church ministry structures and forms with the more balanced missional ecclesiology.

선교적 교회론의 기본적인 관심은 교회의 존재론적인 본질을 삼위일체 하나님으로부터 세상 속으로 파송받은 “교회로서의 선교”로 이해한다. 하지만 선교적 교회론이 선교를 교회의 존재론적인 본질로 강조하는 장점에 도 불구하고 교회의 존재론적인 근거와 기능론적인 양태를 하나로 통합하지 못하고 이분법적으로 구분한 다 음에 다분히 존재론적인 본질을 더욱 강조하면서 기능론적인 양태의 중요성을 간과하는 약점이 있다. 그래서 본 논문의 기본적인 목표는 최근 한국교회에 소개되고 있는 선교적 교회론을 비평적으로 고찰하면서 한국교회의 목회사역의 갱신 방안에 관하여 모색하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 논문의 전반부에서는 북미권 교회 에서 중요한 쟁점으로 부상한 선교적 교회론의 배경과 정의, 그리고 그 지향점에 대해서 살펴보고, 이어서 논 문의 중반부에서는 선교적 교회론에서 염두에 두고 있는 복음과 교회, 그리고 문화 사이의 역동적인 상관관계 를 교회의 목회 사역 갱신에 접목하기 위한 이론적인 패러다임의 일환으로 생태계 내의 유기체로서의 교회론 에 관하여 다룬다. 논문의 후반부에서는 선교적 교회론이 세상을 향한 교회의 존재론적이고 통전적인 변혁을 추구하는 선교적인 교회론과 그 지향점에 근거하여 실제 지역 교회의 목회 사역과 구조를 갱신할 수 있는 전 략적인 방안에 관하여 모색할 것이다. 이러한 논의를 통해서 지역 교회 목회자들이 해당 지역 교회의 목회 사 역과 구조를 선교적인 교회론에 기초하여 갱신할 수 있는 실제적인 방안을 모색하였다.
