This research mainly aimed to study the relationship between variables of independent variable, lead time reduction demand forecasting, firm order, and process innovation support variables of parameter, flexibility—material procurement flexibility and production flexibility and variables of dependent variable, business performance financial performance, customer satisfaction performance, and process innovation performance. First, lead time reduction is positively correlated with flexibility of parts suppliers. Second, flexibility is positively correlated with business performance. Third, if the role of flexibility as parameter is examined, lead time reduction is positively correlated with business performance directly. But due to parameter role of flexibility, higher business performance can be achieved. Therefore, this research established the fact that enhancing flexibility is the main factor that allows maintaining continuous business relations and strategic partnership between company A, the manufacturer of finished goods, and parts suppliers.

본 연구는 독립변수인 리드타임 단축의 세부변수로서 수요예측, 확정발주, 프로세스 혁신 지원, 매개변수인 유연성의 세부변수로서 자재조달 유연성과 생산 유연성, 종속변수인 기업성과의 세부변수로서 재무적 성과, 고객만족 성과, 프로세스 혁신 성과의 관계를 연구하는 것이 주요목적이었다. 첫째, 리드타임 단축은 부품 공급업체들의 유연성에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로, 둘째, 유연성은 기업성과 에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 매개변수로서 유연성의 역할을 살펴보면 리드타임 단축이 기업성과에 직접적으로 정(+)의 영향을 미치지만 유연성의 매개역할에 의해 더 높은 기업성과를 달성할 수 있 다는 것을 알 수 있다. 따라서 완성품 제조업체로서 A사와 부품 공급업체들 사이에서 지속적인 거래관계의 유지와 전략적인 동반자 관계를 유지할 수 있는 요인이 유연성의 제고라는 사실을 규명하였다.
