‘Eoje(御製)’ means the manuscript written by king. The standard for publishing Yeolseong eoje(列聖御製) in the late Joseon Dynasty was originated from the presentation of manuscripts written by kings, starting from King Teajo(太祖) to King Seonjo(宣祖), and transcribed by Yi Gwang(李珖, 義昌君) to Seonwongak(璿源閣) in 1631. Since then, the publication of Yeolseong Eoje(列聖御製) for later kings was called ‘Cheomgan(添刊)’ and the publication of Yeolseong Eoje(列聖御製) to which writings of later kings were added was called ‘Habbu(合附).’ Gyeongjong Daewang Eoje Cheomgan Sideungnok(景宗大王御製添刊時謄錄)(奎 14202), now preserved in the Kyujanggak Institute for Korean Studies of Seoul National University, is the record of the process of adding the manuscripts of King Gyeongjong from January to June of 1726 to Yeolseong Eoje. This paper examined the compilation, addition and preservation of Yeolseong Eoje(列聖御製) in the late Joseon Dynasty by reviewing Gyeongjong Daewang Eoje Cheomgan Sideungnok. As a result of this examination, the entire process of collecting manuscripts after kings’ death, and making the list of Yeolseong Eoje for the first time, and the steps from binding done to preserve the printed Yeolseong Eoje to their presentation, enshrinement and granting were all verified.

‘御製’란 국왕이 지은 글을 말한다. 조선후기에 『열성어제』를 간행하는 규범은 1631년 義昌君 李珖이 太祖부터 宣祖까지의 어제를 繕寫하여 進獻한 것을, 開刊하여 璿源閣에 봉안한 것에서 시작되었다. 이후 후대왕의 『열성어제』를 간인하는 것을 ‘添刊’으로 지칭하 며, 선왕들의『열성어제』에 이어 함께 간인하는 것을 ‘合附’라고 일컫는다. 서울대학교 규장각한국학연구원에 현전하는『景宗大王御製添刊時謄錄』(奎14202)은 1726년 1월부터 6월까지 景宗의 어제를 『열성어제』에 첨간한 과정을 기록한 등록이다. 본 논문은 『景宗大王御製添刊時謄錄』을 중심으로 조선후기 『열성어제』의 편찬․간인․ 보존에 관해 고찰한 것이다. 이를 통해 국왕의 사후에 어제를 수집하고, 『열성어제』의 목록을 처음으로 만들게 되는 과정, 인출한 『열성어제』를 보존하기 위해 장황 ￫진상 ￫봉안 ￫반사에 이르는 전 모를 알 수 있었다.
