This study investigated 18 works of Zhuxi published in the early Joseon Dynasty by examining the documents and the existing prints, and analyzed them according to the works, the editions, and the regions of publication. Major findings of this study are as follows: 1. Zhuxi’s works were published a total of 148 times which include 97 times in woodblock prints, 48 times in prints with metal movable types, and 2 times in prints with wooden movable types. 2. The most frequently published works were Sohak, Sigyeong, Garye, Geunsarok, Jachitonggam-gangmok, etc. selected as textbooks for the royal court and national schools. 3. The printings were mainly conducted by the central government and also locally done on nationwide scales, but mostly by Gyeonsang Province and Jeolla Province. 4. Most of Zhuxi’s works were published by the central government with movable types, but four works, including Dongmongsuji, were published with woodblocks by local governments. Therefore, it is clear that there was co-operation between the central and local governments. 5. In this study, Gyeongjaja-bon Mung-juseonsaeng-gamheungsi printed in 1429 (the 11th year of the King Sejong’s reign) is first introduced.

본 연구는 조선 전기 간행의 주자 저술 18종을 대상으로 현존본과 문헌 조사를 통하여 그 간본을 조사하고, 이를 저술별, 판본별, 간행지역별로 분석한 것으로 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 주자의 저술은 목판본 97회, 금속활자본 48회, 목활자본 2회, 판본 미상 1회로 모두 148회 간행되었다. 둘째, 개별 저술은 經筵, 書筵 등 왕실 교육의 교재나 관학의 교과서로 채택된 ｢小學｣, ｢孝經｣, ｢家禮｣, ｢近思錄｣, ｢資治通鑑綱目｣ 등의 간행 빈도가 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 간행은 중앙에서 주도하였고, 경상도와 전라도를 중심으로 전국 각지에서 서적 간행이 이루어졌다. 넷째, 주자의 저술은 대부분 중앙에서 금속활자로 간행하였으나 ｢童蒙須知｣ 등 4종은 지방관에 의하여 목판으로 간행되고 있어 중앙과 지방의 관 중심으로 상호 보완적인 간행 이 이루어졌음을 알 수 있다. 다섯째, 이 연구를 통하여 새롭게 소개되는 자료는 세종 11년(1429) 인출의 庚子字本 ｢文公朱先生感興詩｣이다.
