Expressional Activities are considered the most difficult to be taught and least favored by students among the 5 areas of Physical Education. This research focuses on suggesting enjoyable lesson plans through using props to solve the previously stated problem. Therefore, this research was verified by three professionals who have used props for Expressional Activities along with Movement Expressions, Rhythmical Expression, Cultural Expression, and Theme Expression in the 2009 Physical Education Study Program. In addition, C elementary school in Kangwondo had twenty-two 6th grade students, twelve males and ten females, to participate inactivities using Cultural Expression and Theme Expression once a week for twelve weeks. Also, this paper studies the collected documents related to observation and psychiatric counseling of four teachers and twenty-two students through analytical induction. As a result, lessons that implement props, firstly, motivate student interest. Secondly, it creates enjoyment and pleasure, and thirdly, students are able to be more considerate towards each other through cooperation. In conclusion, the lessons that utilized props help to improve the diversity of Expressional Activities and their originality. This result suggests that using props for Expressional Activities will build confidence for teachers, who have difficulty in instructing Expressional Activities in the field. Furthermore, it will create an opportunity for students to motivate themselves, and also nurture enjoyment, cooperation, consideration, diversity, and originality.

이 연구는 표현활동이 체육과 교육과정의 5가지 영역(건강․도전․경쟁․표현․여가활동) 중 교사들이 가장 지도하기 어려워하며, 학생들의 선호도가 낮게 나타나는 영역이기에 이러한 문제를 해결하고자 교구를 활용한 표현활동 수업 운영을 통하여 즐거운 표현활동 수업 방안을 제시하는데 목적이 있다. 이에 본 연구는 2009개정 체육과 교육과정 표현활동 영역에서 움직임 표현, 리듬표현, 민속표현, 주제표현의 내용 중 교구를 활용한 표현활동 수업 사례를 전문가 3인의 타당도 검증을 받아 제시하고 강원도 소재 C초등학교 6학년 학생 남 12명, 여 10명에게 교구를 활용한 민속표현과 주제표현 수업을 주 1회, 총 12회 진행하고 수업 관찰 교사 4명과 수업 참여 학생22명을 대상으로 참여관찰, 심층면담, 수집된 관련 문서 자료를 분석적 귀납방법을 통해 분석하였다. 분석 결과 교구를 활용한 표현활동 수업은 첫째, 수업에 대한 동기를 유발한다. 둘째, 재미와 즐거움을 준다. 셋째, 협동하는 과정을 통해 대인관계를 이해하고 서로를 배려하며 넷째, 교구활용 수업을 통하여 표현활동 수업의 다양성과 독창성을 향상시키는데 도움이 되었음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 교구를 활용한 표현활동 수업이 초등학교 현장에서 표현활동을 지도하는 교사에게 어려워하는 표현활동 수업 운영에 자신감을 갖게 하고, 학생들에게는 자발적인 동기유발의 유도와 재미와 즐거움, 협동과 배려, 다양성과 독창성을 길러주고 즐겁게 표현활동에 참여 할 수 있는 기회가 되었다고 본다.
