The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between interpretation bias of positive social events and social anxiety, and to examine how the discrepancies of others’ standards and self-efficacy mediated those factors. The interpretation bias of positive social events has been studied in two factors, which are negative interpretation of positive events and discounting of positive events. For the purpose of examining the mediating effect of discrepancies between others’ standards and self-efficacy, 584 university students were asked to complete the Social Interaction Anxiety Scale(SIAS), Interpretation of Positive Events Scale(IPES), Discounting of Positive Events Scale(DPES), Others Standards-Self Efficacy Questionnaire. Then, multiple regression analyses were conducted to examine mediating effects of discrepancies between others’ standards and self-efficacy. Results have shown that two interpretation biases of positive social events and social anxiety had played mediating roles in the discrepancies of others’ standards and self-efficacy. With these results, the relationship between interpretation bias of positive social events and social anxiety was discussed in terms of information processing. In the end, the clinical implications and several limitations of the present study were discussed.

본 연구에서는 긍정적인 사회적 상황에 대한 해석편향과 사회불안의 관계를 알아보고, 이 변인들 간의 관계에서 타인의 기준과 자기 효능감 간의 불일치가 매개효과를 갖는지 확인하고자 하였다. 긍정적인 사회적 상황에 대한 해석편향은 ‘긍정적 사건에 대한 부정적 해석’과 ‘긍정적 사건에 대한 평가절하’로 나눌 수 있다. 타인의 기준과 자기 효능감의 불일치가 두 해석편향과 사회불안의 관계를 매개하는지 밝히기 위해, 대학생 584명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 측정도구는 사회적 상호작용 불안척도(SIAS), 긍정적 사건에 대한 해석척도(IPES), 긍정적 사건에 대한 평가절하 척도(DPES), 타인기준-사회적 자기 효능감 질문지를 사용하였으며, 매개효과를 검증하기 위해 중다 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 타인기준-자기 효능감 불일치가 두 해석편향과 사회불안의 관계를 모두 부분적으로 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 통해 긍정적 사회적 상황에 대한 해석편향과 사회불안의 관계를 정보 처리적 관점에서 논의하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 의의와 제한점, 후속 연구를 위한 제언을 논의하였다.
