In the 21st century, we believe that many Christians have been influenced by the newmedia generation through digital images, animations, and movies. This thesis demonstrates how to understand the relationship between two paradigms such as ‘Christian + cultural contents’and ‘Christian culture +contents’. I don’t think that we can neglect our attention from cultural contents and Christian culture. First, this paper reviews the theories of‘ cultural contents’learnt from both general ideas and Christian perspective. Secondly, the goal of this study is to suggest the possibility of an alternative education through the understanding of cultural contents learnt from movies such as Superman Returns and the animation, Toy Story. I believe that Christian educators must learn how to deal with cultural contents by analyzing storytelling and misuse of the religious aspect, especially Christian connotations. Through Toy story, I review A. Maslow’s‘ the‘ Need hierarchy theory’and the connotation of that storytelling. In the animation, Superman Returns, I criticize the negative implication of religious aspects. Thirdly, this paper explores the significance of ‘cultural contents’and ‘Christian world-view’. This study is to find the possibility of development of cultural contents from Christian perspectives. In addition, I manifest the meaning of what an alternative education should be which is reviewed from the storytelling of animation and movie such as Superman Returns and Toy Story. Hopefully, this study elicits the idea of media literacy with Christian cultural contents. It is worth noting that understanding the notion of‘ cultural contents’ from such intriguing movies help educators reinterpret a story of our community and one’s own tradition.

본 연구의 목적은 세속문화와 기독교문화의 경계에서 문화를 어떻게 해석하고 수용 해야 하는지를 모색한다. 문화콘텐츠의 이해를 위해서‘기독교+문화콘텐츠’혹은 ‘기독교문화+콘텐츠’라는 두 가지 패러다임에 대해 이해할 필요가 있다. 기독교와 문화의 관계에 대한 많은 선행연구들이 있어왔고 특히 기독교교육관점에서도 문화 콘텐츠, 미디어콘텐츠혹은교육콘텐츠에관한연구가요청되고있다. 이상의 필요성에 부응하여 연구자는 첫째, 문화콘텐츠에 대한 이론을 살펴보겠다. 둘째, 기독교교육과 문화콘텐츠의 관계에 대해 살펴볼 것이다. 셋째, 기독교교육과 기독교 세계관의 관계성에 대하여 검토하겠다. 마지막으로, 미디어 리터러시 (media literacy)에 대한 이해와 기독교문화 콘텐츠 개발 및 기독교 서사교육의 가 능성을조명하겠다.
