Historically, one of the important issues in Christian education is the relationship between theology and social science. Liberal Christian educators have tried to integrate both sides in the perspective of social science priority, whereas conservative Christian educators have tried to integrate both sides in limited ways. However, integration is not about either or, but rather about requirements and methodology. In this study, the relationship between theology and social science in Christian education was addressed through the Christian education perspective and the role of reformed theology in the process of integration was studied. First, reformed theology considers biblical principles as a priority. Secondly, reformed theology shows that social science methods should be Bible-centered. Third, reformed theology clearly explains the relationship between special and general revelations in the process of integration. Fourth, reformed theology supplies the critical frames of integration. Finally, reformed theology lets us know where human beings stand as the main subjects of integration.

기독교 교육학에 있어서 신학과 사회과학의 관계성의 문제는 오랫동안 지속되어온 매우 중요한 교육학의 이슈 중에 하나이다. 자유주의 기독교 교육학을 표방하는 진 영에서는 사회과학의 우위 속에서 통합을 시도해왔고 보수주의 진영에서는 양자간 의 통합을 매우 제한된 영역 안에서 시도하고 있다. 그러나 양자간의 통합의 문제는 더 이상 선택의 문제가 아니라‘어떻게 해야 하는가’에 대한 방법론의 문제이다. 따 라서 본 연구는 그 동안 역사적으로 진행되어 왔던 신학과 사회과학과의 관계성에 대하여 교육학적 관점에서 살펴보았고 그 과정에서 개혁주의 신학의 역할에 대하여 고찰하였다. 첫째, 개혁주의 신학은 통합의 논의에 있어서 성경의 원리가 최우선적 고려의 대상임을 밝혀준다. 둘째, 개혁주의 신학은 사회과학적 방법과 결과물이 하 나님중심적이어야함을알려준다. 셋째, 개혁주의신학은통합의두축인특별은총 과일반은총의관계성을명확히해준다. 넷째, 개혁주의신학은통합에있어서핵심 적인 요소인‘비평적 수용의 틀’을 제공해 준다. 다섯째, 개혁주의 신학은 통합의 실질적주체인인간의상태에대한명확한인식을갖게한다.
