In all the foreign language examinations listening and speaking are important but reading and writing are much more important. For example, in the college entrance examination listening and speaking are 27 percent and reading and writing are 73 percent. In the light of the present situation particularly the aim of this theses is to improve reading comprehension of the preliminary college students because they cannot translate correctly and can't read and understand. In reading comprehension the reader must read the long sentences and a variety of sentences if possible. What is more important, he must learn and be able use it correctly. Therefore the guidance of English reading comprehension must be laid stress on these ways.
