This study was to implement English Task Activity using Learner’s mother tongue and was characterized by Bilingualism-based Approach of Choi(2007) and by Task-based Teaching of Willis(1996). The English Task Activity developed for this study was applied to English language learners in an attempt to improve their English Language Learning Strategies. The pre/post surveys using Oxford(1989)'s SILL(Strategy Inventory for Language Learning) were conducted to explore the effect of the English Task Activity on English Language Learning Strategies. The data collected from the surveys were analyzed by WIN. SPSS 20.0 program and examined by paired t-test. The results from the surveys of this study show that there was a significant increase in 5 English Language Learning Strategies such as Memory Strategies, Cognitive Strategies, Meta Cognitive Strategies, Affective Strategies and Social Strategies. The increase in use of these strategies is therefore meaningful in that the English Task Activity using Learner's mother tongue-based on Bilingualism-based Approach- is efficient for English language learners.
