The purpose of this paper is to analyze various categories such as the recognition,effectiveness, fear about crime, privacy invasion, appropriacy and operation of crime prevention CCTV use in university facilities by doing a survey on how student think about the crime prevention CCTV installed in university facilities For this research, diverse existing surveys regarding CCTV were examined, and the appropriate elements of survey questions were extracted and developed. The installation, effectiveness of crime prevention CCTV have been controversial but the results of the survey are as follows: First, the recognition of CCTV and effectiveness for CCTV’s ability to reduce crime were above the average. Second,installation of CCTV hare improved the safety feelings and the fears about being a victim of theft or violence crime were decreased. Third, student answered negatively,when the felt irrelevant usage of CCTV to crime prevention, privacy invasion and surveillance. Response level was above the average about endurance of privacy invasion, when CCTV has crime prevention effect.

본 연구는 대학내 방범용 CCTV의 설치에 따른 대학생들의 인식을 조사하고 이를 통해 대학시설내 CCTV에 대한 인지성, 효용성, CCTV와 범죄의 두려움, CCTV에 대한 기본권 침해 및 CCTV 설치의 적절성과 운용성 등 다양한 항목을 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 기존의 다양한 CCTV 관련설문을 분석하고 이를 통해 적절한 설문문항 요소를 추출하였다. CCTV의 설치와 효용성에 대한 논쟁이 있지만, 연구의 결과는 인지성과 효율성은 보통이상으로 나타났으며, CCTV가 안전감을 제고하고 두려움을 감소시키는데 기여하는것으로 나타났다. 또한 개인 프라이버시 침해에 대한 우려가 있으나 범죄예방을 위해CCTV의 설치를 수용하는 태도를 보였다.
